You misunderstand the comment. I hear what they say, but I rarely believe what they say. I was being facetious when saying I could be wrong.
you posted,"as I don't listen to a lot of what they say".
Prime example of this entire post. The dems jumping up and down with glee thinking they have one on the repubs. When the details are looked at we find there is nothing to jump up and down about.
The GOP is NOT backing down on their promise. The detals are explained in previous posts.
Words have meanings. "I don't listen to a lot of what they say" is not the same as "I hear what they say but I rarely believe what they say"
At least you are honest and admit you rarely believe what they say.

The desperation of the left is palpable. The American people elected the Republicans to cut spending and that is exactley what they will do. I don't think anyone pulled the lever because $100 billion was a magic number for them.
Actions speak louder than words. Let's see what the Republicans DO, not what they say.
That just might be better than reckless spending that we've done for the past two years.
The spending was not reckless it was done to resuscitate the economy after credit driven consumer demand plunged and business investment literally left the country.

Perhaps English is a second language. But the use of the word varies, here is one of the dictionary definitions.
listen - pay close attention to; give heed to; "Heed the advice of the old men"
It seems they have already broken at least three promises in one day. We need to keep on eye on these guys. This is not going too well.
