Significant change, if I do say so myself. I'm sure the poor and lower middle class are pleased. After all, they'll be leaner and healthier from a lower caloric intake.

Doesn't count..food and energy are not part of the CPI.

Don't eat and you won't feel the effects of commodity inflation.
Wait til the high priced cotton works its way through the system and the price of clothes skyrocket.
China has already said they cannot contain or absorb the high cost anymore.

Cotton, by the way, ended it's highest since the reconstruction.

FWIW..I have cut back my food budget and still spend MORE than I did a year ago so even budgeting and buying the store brands can't cover the rise.

Either that or just grow everything yourself. The poor urban folks especially have more than enough land and resources to grow their own food. No prob.

Overheard at an Obama campaign stop:
No tax increases on the poor and middle class! (mutters the second part under his breath) but we are going to make your money worth less.

How childish. You think the President controls the price of food? How so?

If you're so concerned about feeding the poor, I'm sure you'll be fine with increasing food stamp programs, right?

But he can work with the Fed who can most certainly have an influence on those prices.

Saw this happen to my parents as inflation became hyperinflation. My grandparents were forced at gunpoint to surrender much of their livestock to the city folks who the gov't claim were suffering, even at the expense of them going hungry. Of course, my grandmother disobeyed like a true patriot would.

Sadly, Bambi hasn't seemed to be able to control anything or help any current situations. Remind me again what he does all day long as president?
