ACORN EXECUTIVE – ‘GUILTY of VOTER FRAUD’ (http://www.desertconservative.com/2011/01/12/acorn-executive-guilty-of-voter-fraud-i-bet-reid-is-unhappy-msm-mum/ - broken link)

An executive with ACORN has been convicted of voter fraud in Nevada. Amy Adele Busefink was convicted of voter fraud in Las Vegas. She was given a two year sentence, which was regrettably, suspended.

...

However, ACORN voter fraud is always to the benefit of Democrats and Busefink was lucky enough to be in front of a, you guessed it, Democrat Judge for sentencing. Judge Donald Mosley is a member of the Clark County Democratic Party.

Yeah - we need more regulations.

A no-contest plea? - Technically - OK, no conviction.

How this? They cheated - they got away with it.

You guys really do a job on your own credibility.

No she was not convicted of voter fraud.

She pleaded no contest to a charge of paying registrars based on the number of signatures obtained. A NV misdemeanor.

The decision is being appealed to the NV Supreme Court and may well be thrown out.

So far there has not been any charges of voter fraud by ACORN in NV

So it is very unlikely anyone will be convicted of it.

And virtually all the rest of that silly story was equally untrue.

Truth is apparently foreign to the right.

Of course her sentance was suspended much like the Black Liberation thugs were suspended. As long as hussein obama is in office there will be little justice when it comes to the left wingers.

A no-contest plea, while not technically a guilty plea, has the same immediate effect as a guilty plea, and is often offered as a part of a plea bargain.

Of course it was a plea bargain. And of course there was no significant sentence because a jury would likely have laughed the case out of court.

The crime was offering a bonus to the registrars for good performance. And the statute may well be found unconstitutional.

In order for the statute to be found constitutional, you first have to prove that an agency that operates like ACORN is actually constitutional. Good luck with that.

A plea of Nolo Contendre means, that the accused doesn't wish to contest the charges. The plea is entered and the conviction is noted, meaning that when you plea no contest, you are immediately and irrevocably found guilty of the charges.

Quote:
A nolo contendere plea has the same immediate effects as a plea of guilty, but may have different residual effects or consequences in future actions. For instance, a conviction arising from a nolo contendere plea is subject to any and all penalties, fines, and forfeitures of a conviction from a guilty plea in the same case, and can be considered as an aggravating factor in future criminal actions.
