Like it or not, we are going to have a real problem on our hands. Our jobs have been shipped overseas and the truth is there simply are NOT enough jobs to go around. I don't see this improving.
Some people who are over 50 have killed themselves in despair. Others in their 20s wonder how they'll ever get out from under their student loan debt or be able to find a job.
For those who don't have family or friends to fall back on, isn't is really government and business's responsibility to provide for some kind of housing? I mean, we bailed out Wall Street. Now it's their turn. What's your opinion?
Keep the federal government out of this. Why are people using the federal government as their knee jerk, de facto solution for every problem?
Unveil and admit they have FEMA camps built all over the US.
Then open them for the new homeless.
I think in some circles it's fairly well known of the FEMA camps (at least I've known about it). Gosh, this whole thing makes me wonder if all of this hasn't been orchestrated like some master plot with the outsourcing and inevitable people out of work.
Well, then what is the answer? There was another thread in another part of this forum. The OP had written that many or some of her friends over 50 were starting to really get worried and she was looking for help re: what to tell them in terms of why to go on.
Do we just let people who "did the right thing" end up on the streets or worse? I think Wall Street has a responsibility to main street at this point. And government needs to see it happens.
Sorry, they sure did something that did not work.
