I'm sure he was expecting something like that given their history of shakedowns of business and threats of boycott.

The "L" stands for liberal - NAALCP - because they really don't stand for conservative black people.

Oh? and playing the race card does "wash"

How is saying he will meet with ALL prisoners a racist attitude?

Only wanting him to meet with *black prisoners only* IS racist.

You think it's good for political leaders to be rude and crude? If Obama told a Republican to "kiss his butt", I imagine your reaction would be quite different.

You don't have to answer that.
I would say the same thing because when you are a public figure you should (all, both sides) choose your words wisely.

No, instead he was looking for somebody's a** to kick.

Not racist...but rude. A simple "I have prior committments." would have sufficed.

Default Classless? began with Obama....

[MOD CUT]

At least LePage knew whose butt he was talking about and where it was located.

Of course LePage could have been more inventive in his response but for a 70K salary you don't get Harvard grads. At least we all know what the ME gov meant as opposed to some super slick lawyer politician who measures his words and calculates his sentences in a vortex of poetic license and interpretive phrases subject to reversal and appeal.

Good for LePage and ME. Maybe Susan and Olympia should take note as their republican coats turn dem when the legislative season rolls around.
At least the varying hares of Maine are well represented. Maine's republicans are our democrats maybe LePage will bring a vital genetic strain so desperately needed for Maine to not become Vermont or Mass.

Of course it was somewhat rude, and totally appropriate given the race-baiting nature of the NAALCP.

Ah, yes. Obama was the first President to use that phrase. How conveniently some of you forget...
