You don't remember the closed-door "No Republicans Allowed" meetings.
What about have to bribe their OWN to buy their votes?
Democrats defend closed-door process on health bill | Susan Ferrechio | Politics | Washington Examiner (http://washingtonexaminer.com/politics/democrats-defend-closed-door-process-health-bill - broken link)
Such childish taunting from Republicans these days. They're like bullies. I guess they can't accept that Democrats still control the Senate, and if Reid doesn't want to bring it up for a vote, he doesn't have to - just like Republicans ignored Democrats during the years they were in control.
Obama says closed-door meetings on health care were a mistake
President Barack Obama admitted today that his closed-door meetings on health care with Democratic congressional leaders should have been televised on C-SPAN and he said he would keep his campaign promise for more open negotations the next time around.
Democrats defend closed-door process on health bill
House Democrats huddled in private to decide what kind of compromise on health care legislation they would be willing to strike with the Senate while pressure mounts for them to end the secretive nature of the talks. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and her leadership team faced questions about openness after emerging from a closed-door meeting with top committee chairmen on legislation to overhaul the nation's health system.
Reporters demanded to know whether Pelosi would allow cameras to record the negotiations, a request made in writing early Tuesday by C-SPAN Chief Executive Officer Brian Lamb, who reminded Democrats of their earlier pledge to bring transparency to the health care talks.
The promise of transparency by Obama and Pelosi was another handy thing to forget in order to get that beginning for socialized medicine going.
They remained in control of Congress until 2006 and won the Presidency afterwards.
You're leaving out inconvenient facts.
The "republican revolution" was in 94, when they gained all their seats and took control of Congress. They got overly confident. Following the showdown between Clinton and Gingrich, the R's lost the '96 presidential race, and the Dem's gained 8 or 9 seats in Congress (although they lost 2 in the Senate). The Rs continued to lose congressional and senate seats throughout the remainder of the 90s, and they barely won the presidential race in 2000, even after the Lewinsky scandal. After that, 911 hit, and the whole landscape changed for different reasons.
Don't forget this, though the GOP would like you to: They were invited to participate in writing the legislation, even invited to the health care summit with the President. Their input was solicited and eagerly awaited.
Totally and completely FALSE. The GOP was kept out of all negotiations for obamacare. In the WH, in the House, in the Senate. In fact, just a couple months ago, Sen Minority Leader McConnell met with obama for the very first time in over 2 years.
The GOP House controls the purse, controls the budgetary and appropriations process, they will control the language and what is included...and what is NOT including. They will cut the funding and impose restrictions on HHS from implementing the massive regulatory/departmental structure of obamacare. This will be included in any budget presented to the Senate, which will try to take it out, which will fail.

Wrong. Ras, Gallup, CNN, WaPo - say repeal.
