Well you see it works like this:

1) GOP demand Obama "focus on jobs" and are "angry" that he put so much energy into health care.

2) GOP pound fist on table and demand we put 100% energy into job creation.

3) GOP are now in the driver's seat, and instead of focusing on jobs, put all their energy into a symbolic vote which both wastes time and tax payer money.

They'll get to the "job creation" when they are done pandering to the base and accomplishing nothing.

It is not the government's place to create jobs.

That belongs to the private sector.

The government needs to get out of the way.

Even if the Democrats were still in control, they wouldn't do anything, because they're spineless and afraid of the Republicans.

Haha, funny, funny. The republicans were installed to STOP the radical agenda of obama.

Oh, that tax rate extension? The one obama capitulated on because he suddenly realized HIS policies were failing badly? GOP - all the way - they boxed him in, he threw the dems in congress under the bus and if it creates jobs, the GOP will get credit for it.

The whole country was angry, hence the historic wave election for the GOP. The dems spent a year putting together a massive, budget busting, job killing piece of legislation the country rejected. Remember obama's comments about "pivoting" to job growth? How many times has he said it? Too many to count. Where are the 500,000 jobs a month promised by VP Bite-me? Where are the 4 million promised from obama? We have LOST 4 million since he was installed.

Oh no. Defunding obamacare will create jobs, save money and reduce the deficit. They are doing exactly what their mandate calls for - slash the budget, stop implementation of obamacare.

Besides, anything that makes sense, obama is sure to veto, since he has not whit of common sense when it comes to job creation.

Good question.

And there's your answer. The only two things I've seen so far from the GOP have been a token repeal of the so-called jobs-killing health care bill (I guess it's progress when they switch from talk about killing Grandma to killing jobs, eh?) and the need to seriously shrink the federal budget ... by killing federal jobs.

Of course, part of the federal jobs thing is an anti-Washington thing, and I get that. But I thought this was interesting - a list of the states with the highest number of federal workers and federal retirees:

    1. California - 465,912
    2. Texas - 354,133
    3. Virginia - 307,719
    4. Maryland - 296,295
    5. Florida - 244,560

The number for Washington, DC? 209,654. Population of Federal Employees by Congressional District and County, 2010

They have already started with the repeal of Obamacare. This in just 2-3 weeks and is a great start.

Other things on their plate?

1. Reducing the financial reform regulations
2. Cutting EPA regulations
3. Tort reform
4. Border security
5. Tougher trade negotiations with China

In short, undoing alot of what Obama and Bill Clinton have foisted upon the US economy.
