I can sum up the state of our union in 1 word & save you from wasting an hour on mind numbing political rhetoric, platitudes, spin & a migraine headache.
The state of our union is: BANKRUPT
You will hear how he saved us from going bankrupt.
And we are close to bankrupt right now today then we have ever been.
How does someone who has made things worse, made multiple major mistakes and poor decisions, directed us on a downward slope actually stand in front of us all and keep a straight face.
So why don't the TV networks tell the White House to air the State of the Union Address at a timeslot where they can easily give up their regular programming?
Networks are not mandated to show the State of The Union address. They choose to do so.
There is also no mandate that it be annual or that they make a speech. The President can make a written report - but for all Presidents this is a PR opportunity that they can't pass up.
I plan on going to a movie instead. I'll catch the salient highlights (lowlights?) off CD when I return and I'm sure my blood pressure will thank me for this decision
I'm watching White Collar and Royal Pains. Maybe also Harry's Law (Kathy Bates) taped from last night. I'll read C-D tomorrow for the SOTU talking points.
Democrats were elected to the majority in congress in November 2006 & took over congress in January 2007. Look how many jobs the the democrats have destroyed over the past 4 years they were in power. Now that the republicans have been elected to take back the house the business knows they will not be regulated out of existence & started hiring. Jobs are coming back.
