I can't get over the large number of just plain beautiful women who report on politics and current events on TV. The funny thing is once a woman hits 35 years old and starts having some real skills and knowledge about journalism, current events and politics, she is canned and replaced by a woman who looks like a playboy bunnie.

No wonder people don't trust the media, the journalists are all hired based on looks vs knowledge and experience!

I don't believe in electronic media. I prefer print. Hard to retract what you said when you have a hard copy in front of you.

I guess it's like a pro sports career. You know it's only for a certain number of years max and then you're done. Life is about making wise decisions.

Default Stereotype much?

And don't forget that all beautiful women are dumb as a box of rocks.
They only get to where they are by sleeping their way to the top or with their looks.

Yes, it is a stereotype but as with most stereotypes it is true MOST of the time!

My skepticism about TV news is not influenced by the presenter. My skepticism is based on the fact that TV News is just another way to make money and the management would never let the truth interfere with ratings or profits. The presenters are not the investigators or the reporters. Same thing applies to the Weather Channel. Sometimes it is difficult to concentrate on the map when the sweater girl is busting out all over.

BTW - Not all beautiful women are "dumb as a box of rocks" or "sleep their way to the top". I know some that are very smart and only sleep with men they choose. I would estimate that just about as many pretty boys use these methods to get their positions.

Anything other than your opinion?
It's quite insulting of you to say that a woman can't be both beautiful and smart.
I know many beautiful and smart women.

As long as the news anchor knows the topic inside and out, I don't care if she's beautiful or not. Though, when it comes to apparel, I tend to click away from female news anchors who are dressed like they're going to a club. I start wondering if they're dressing that way because they suck at news, especially when their male co-anchors are dressed up in suits and ties.
