I do hope that you are aware that she doesn't have the support of the whole republican party. She is only in with the tea party crazies.

Is that something like the tea bag hat wearers?

Placing less of a tax burden on corporations and citizens works.

Therefore, the right is correct.

These arguments cannot be broken.

Differing opinions are our right.

The truth makes America great.
It seems that the republicans still think that...tax cuts are free.

They aren't republicans--I'M a republican, or at least the old school kind. They're anarchists. They want no government, or government so limited that it provides military, period. You have to find the balance between expecting the government to meet all your needs vs. a total lack of faith in government, which is where the current batch of R's are at. The truth is in the middle. Either extreme creates chaos, or worse yet, a totalitarian regime or a banana republic.

EDIT--on thinking tax cuts are free. They want roads, bridges, and the garbage picked up--they just want it for FREE.

You know, I don't think they do get that. Thinking conservatives have been against her for quite some time now. Kathleen Sullivan wrote some great pieces exemplifying that.

not sure what she is talking about. no where in the speech did he even give the slightest hint that the government was gonna create jobs. He spoke mostly about making the private sector more competitive. It was all very pro business.

better education in math/science --> good for the private sector
better infrastructure --> good for the private sector
lower corporate tax --> good for the private sector
easier visa for skilled graduates --> good for the private sector
new trade agreements --> good for the private sector

What's even more bizarre is they are fixated on the fact that they are working, and apparently no one else works or contributes in any way, and therefore they think they deserve these services, but yet as you say they don't want to pay for them. Crazy, twisted logic. If taxes are cut, the money has to come from somewhere else.

But...I thought the dems want to take it all from the rich?

I think there's a wake up call going on right now in the Republican party. They followed the same strategy this last election that they've used in the past--stir up a hornets nest on issues to get a certain segment to follow you whether they plan on following through on those issues or not--and it's not working so well this time. It used to be the social conservatives, who they could pacify with talk and no action, but the tea party is different. Most republicans don't agree with them--it's not that big of a base--but the R's poured huge money into the campaigns to get them elected. I think you're going to see the R's skipping the tea party the next time around and backing their own candidates in primary challenges vs. just accepting any old candidate, and then backing them through the general. They're in a heck of a bind and they know it--completely turn off the swing voters who win elections, or lose the far right end of the voting spectrum. I know one thing for sure--they're not going to let the tea party run the House.
