So....are you going to run away from this thread now as well?

What's the problem with diversity on Wall Street? Not enough white males there for you?

For the fictitious company, I guess the workforce would need to reflect the zip code to be diverse, IDK. Just to be clear: That's not how *I* feel, but I think it's how some pro-diversity people want it to be, by zip code (kinda absurd IMO. It should be all about skills)

P.S.: Is it lazy of me to respond to the opening post and skip all the rest?

22- White gay/lesbian employees

Is this a diverse workplace?
With no information on their work habits, ideologies, values, hobbies, likes/dislikes and goals, I can't say if that workplace is diverse or not.

A "diverse workplace" is comprised of people from different socioecononmic and professional backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, etc. Such a workplace enriches the product and output of the entity, since it provides a more involved and varied response to and perspectives in addressing issues and concerns. It also provides exposure to employees that may not have otherwise been privy to different perspectives. It's not about having an exact number of every category since that would be virtually impossible for most work places.

BTW, clb10: Many blacks are typically unhappy in many workplaces, since racism in all its forms, inherently creates such an atmosphere! My suggestion to you: Research and READ!

A work place is diverse when the government says it is diverse.
That's when all politically correct quotas have been met, affirmative action is in place, is gender equal [amount and pay] multi-cultural activities are conducted and social justice is prevailing.
All of this must be in effect whether the employee is qualified or not for the positions they have.

Again, quotas and mandates are far from ideal.
Well quotas and mandates creates token minorities who are in positions just by the virtue of being a minority. It's reverse racism. If a company thinks that only whites are productive so be it. They'll lose out on qualified minorities and they'll suffer for it. No one is entitled to a job if they're not cut out for it, and Affirmative Action creates a sense of entitlement. It's not only wrong, it's fundamentally evil.

If you can't see the stupidity of forced "diversity" then no amount of explaining will help you out.

It's not rocket science. Most people can determine if a workplace is diverse by first impression, within a few minutes after a brief walk-through of a business or corporation.

My measurement: If at least 10% of the workforce doesn't look like me, it's not diverse enough.
