When people have lost the moral high ground and their agendas fail the only thing left is to attack character. It's the only thing they have left. It's a sad time in any case.
What the left doesn't understand is that it's not fear that makes a coward or a hero, but it's what you DO with that fear. Being aware and prepared is the hero part, being told what to think and burying your head is the cowardly way.
Wow. Sour D. While I agree with the "being told what to think and burying your head is the cowardly way" sentiment, this assessment of left (with the implication that the right are the "heroes") seems like an oversimplified view. Is it really that hard to believe that there are discerning, informed people on the left too? Or for that matter, that there are sheep on both sides too? What do you base these opinions on? Opinions of "experts" on the right? Seriously.
Again. The character attacks seem pretty prevalent regardless of political affiliation. These threads alone are certainly proof of that. I mean there's talk of "moral high ground" and the implication is that the "other side" is taking the low road. There's talk of being prepared and being a hero. Really? That's all laughable at best. Prepared for what? WWIII? Really? C'mon man!
Sometimes the truth hurts people...they cant face reality.
The real world scares them!
Again with the truth and reality. People. Get a grip. This is one guy's opinion and while very entertaining, it really doesn't qualify as the truth in any comprehensive way.

It's not a left vs. right thing. It's just that many on the left don't understand that philosophy as you can see by many of the posts and threads here. There are also some on the right here as well that don't realize it, but the majority are the left leaners. MrFloyd, I don't know if you are aware, you seem to be able to think for yourself, that there are many, many posters here that were sent here by Democratic (Progressive) organizations to try and sway public opinion and spread propaganda. Those are the people that I mainly target in my posts. The truth is, they spread lies because they have an agenda. If they didn't have an agenda then they wouldn't purposely lie because the truth has no agenda. So my point is, why are so many of these people so afraid to see people engaging in critical thinking? Why must they attack those poeple and say everything is based on fear? Why can't they simply just understand that people want to actually know the truth and question things? Why? Here's the definition of critical thinking:
Quote:
Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. In its exemplary form, it is based on universal intellectual values that transcend subject matter divisions: clarity, accuracy, precision, consistency, relevance, sound evidence, good reasons, depth, breadth, and fairness. It entails the examination of those structures or elements of thought implicit in all reasoning: purpose, problem, or question-at-issue; assumptions; concepts; empirical grounding; reasoning leading to conclusions; implications and consequences; objections from alternative viewpoints; and frame of reference. Critical thinking — in being responsive to variable subject matter, issues, and purposes — is incorporated in a family of interwoven modes of thinking, among them: scientific thinking, mathematical thinking, historical thinking, anthropological thinking, economic thinking, moral thinking, and philosophical thinking.
