I don't know, the production values look pretty soap-opera-y to me. I have a feeling this is going to mega-flop.

Yeah and part 3 will just be John Galt's three hour speech.

Yeah, interesting how Ayn Rand's life ended. She couldn't even live life as she taught. The woman was a total mess!

When I read the book, I didn't have any concerns about the spelling. Ayn Rand took care of that.

I agree. Getting through the book was tough..... but I like her message.

They should make the movie more like "The Carpetbaggers".... lots of thrills in that one.

This trailer doesn't flatter the image of rearden and dagny though. It makes them look like greedy industrialists (wall st types). It's been a while since I read the book, but weren't the ppl in the "other world" some small business owners and greedy industrialists (basically anyone that took the chance to start a business and create jobs) or were they exclusively "greedy industrialists"?
I sensed a lot of parallels in real life gov't since I was living in Calif at the time that I read it. Mainly the constant kowtowing to illegals and the poor in Calif by the politicians in control over there.

Thought provoking material generally is boring to a stupid audience. That's why many non-sensationalist Indy movies don't reap in the bucks.

I will definately go see the movie, I just don't think it will have wide appeal.

I also wonder how well it will do in the international market (I have no idea how popular Rand is abroad). That seems to be a larger part of how well movies do nowdays.

Anyway, from that little clip the production values seemed high so it definately doesn't look like a flop.
Since they did not blow their budget on "A-List" over-priced actors, the movie should be profitable.
