Where have you guys been-this is nothing new-go to any teen/young adult forums and you will see the word frequently being used just the way some blacks use it-by white teens. I remember in 1998 when I was 22 and working on this job site-there were two white teens-and it was n-ga this and n-ga that-without a care in the world. I think the younger generation-especially the ones into hip-hop-dont see the n-word as the older generation sees it. It use to bother me, but life is too short, and most young people dont care about the history of it.
desertdetroiter, you have the correct attitude to be future client of the penal system ... as sure as the sky is blue. There's always time to change though, don't kid yourself though, lack of self control is the problem and anger management is the solution. If the N word provokes "major drama" and a "bad day" then there will be other issues in your life that you will have a hard time handling appropriately in a legal and nonviolent manner.

No...don't kid yourself. I'm 45 years old, and i have no intention of landing myself in the penal system. Sorry.

As for your teenager comment.... Seriously? I didn't take kindly to people insulting me when i was a teenager, so you most certainly can't expect me to lay down for it as a grown ass man. That's not gonna happen....ever.
And i never said that i'd give someone a very bad day and major drama simply for saying a word that i don't like. I said that if they used it to address me in a pejorative fashion, that i'd respond in the way i described. Big difference. Sorry, but i'm not letting folks talk to me in any kind of fashion they desire without response. I'm not built like that. If you are, then that's your business. I give all people respect across the board, and i expect to receive it in kind. When that doesn't happen, then it must be and WILL be addressed.
Oh and BTW...never you mind my ego. It's exactly how it should be.

Most people do expect a "grown ass man" to act with a bit more maturity than a teenager. By the way desertdetroiter I might be misunderstanding so don't be coy and evasive, what do you mean by "major drama" and "a bad day"?
I've heard it used at work( a lot) by younger urban guys of black, white and spanish ethnicity. In each case I thought it was a stupid and ignorant word/term and wrote the guy off as ignorant. If the word and its various derivations have lost their hate and racist meanings, I guess thats good.I never thought the word" cracker" was very offensive but its a stupid term that doesn't need to be used at all.
Here's what I do. I just use whatever N word variant and mentally replace it with "clown".
