Evan Daniel Emory, a Michigan resident, was arrested Tuesday on charges that he manufactured child sexually abusive material. Emory deceived school officials when he told them he wanted to perform an acoustic song for classroom at Beechnau Elementary School. When the video was posted on YouTube, the lyrics of the song were replaced with sexually explicit lyrics.
This video is from News 8, broadcast Feb. 14, 2011.
Isn't 20 years for singing a dirty song rather extreme? I think watching MTV nowadays might qualify for 30 years then.
That's not exactly what he got arrested for. He sang a child appropriate song at a school, filmed the kid's reaction to it and then he edited those reactions into a video of him singing an x-rated song. It was exploiting children and using them in x-rated material. I don't think he deserves to serve jail time for but the parents of those children do need to know that he's remorseful and now understands that what he did was terribly wrong. If I was the judge I've give him community service time.
