Why are those who cheered this on not being a part of this?
Why is the kid who stepped in to stop this not being made out to be a brave hero? Afterall, he stepped in and stopped the second attack.
This type of attack needs to stop.
Illinois law is protecting the attackers because of their age. To me, they should be tried as adults.
The one that stepped in and stopped the fight should be applauded and appear on all the talk shows etc so that the next time someone wants to bully a loner, other children may step in. It is sad the way the guy just sits there and doesn't even try to defend himself and the other guy just keeps hitting him. The guy that just kept hitting him is pathetic and a cowardly bully.
All this little guy has to do is start fighting back and this punk will run.
That's good they're being charged. As for the onlookers, they wouldn't be charged w/battery now would they? They'd be charge w/party to a crime.
I do not believe they can be charged with battery because they did not actually use force, they were just a part of the attack and in some states the law can lead to arrest for cheering such actions on or instigating it or not doing something to stop it, like being an accessory.
The kid who stepped in a stopped this should be rewarded for doing so. He was raised right and put himself in harms way to stop this.
The onlookers who cheered this on need to be punished in some way. They all should have stopped this from the start.

No, we both know what is right and wrong and when it comes to kids like this we both know this was wrong from the start.
The only way to stop this from happening is to set an example by punishing all involved heavily.
This is not a political issue at all, no kid should have to go through this on a bus or at school.
I am totally shocked that the bus driver did not stop this bus and put an end to this. If this bus driver was in my kids school district he/she would have been fired.
The bus and all the kids are the responsibility of the driver and this driver failed to do their job.
Notice the driver kept on driving? What adult person would do this?

I have no idea why he/she kept driving. I couldn't tell on the video if the bus was still moving, I didn't look close enough. Of course everyone should be punished, but the perpetrator should be punished the most harshly. As for the one who stepped in, yes he should definitely be acknowledged. It takes a brave person to step up when you've got a mob mentality going on.
