GOProud's Jimmy LaSalvia: Majority of conservatives embrace gay conservatives – Parker Spitzer - CNN.com Blogs

But, but, but I thought conservatives were homophobic, redneck, bible thumping idiots??? Could it be that maybe Conservatives are just as (if not more) tolerant than Liberals?

I believe it. TONS of conservatives do a lot more than merely "embrace" gays! Every other week a new hypocrite is exposed.

Must SUCK to go through life so prudish and repressed, and internally conflicted!

Ultra Liberal CNN??? Wrong.....if it were Fox then maybe I would doubt it. I am a Gay Conservative and most of the conservatives I have met admire the fact that I am Conservative. We are a minority, but more and more of us are coming out of the "conservative closet"!!!

I think this just shows the big split in the R party between the radical right wing, social conservative end, and the rest of us who are more moderate. Right now the far right end has the loudest voice. Time to take the party back...

You're posting Jimmy LaSalvia's opinion as a fact?

I'm sorry, but only about 1/3 of conservatives say that homosexuality is morally acceptable.

Ya know...

I hate when people make sweeping generalizations about a group of people and then try to tie it in with some great revelation about "the group" not being bigots.

Bigots come in all shapes, sizes, colors, ages and political persuasions.

Democrats included.
