No, it's not a compliment. Esp. when you've not even illustrated your argument well. Oh do, pray tell, illustrate how Whites are being oppressed? Can you do you do that? Since you've not really manage to come up with any evidence. You have been able to twist words, misread, not grasp basic concepts of history and sociology, but def. not form a cohesive argument.
I posted links that show how whites are legally discriminated against in favor of blacks and other minorities. Of course I could post those all day long and people of your ilk will keep dismissing the truth or just say we are getting what we deserve. Why should an 18 year old white kid who grew up next door to a black kid deserve to experience discrimination when he applies to colleges while his neighbor who grew up in the same area and went to the same schools gets special consideration? Do you want to be a Fire Fighter in NYC? You're good to go- as long as you're not white.

That doesn't constitute oppression since it is RARE that this exists. Great job posting linkings but not showing how this means widespread oppression. New Haven's fire department reflected the general population...up until you got the supervisory positions. There, just like in New York, the VAST majority of supervisors were White. This should seem a little odd, seeing how the talent pool is extremely diverse.
What you seem to understand, or you willfully deny, is the impact of past racial grievances and the measures that have been taken to rectify them.
It's stunning how you don't account for redlining and segregation, things that happened during my FATHER'S lifetime.
So we can play ignorant and say that those things are all done and there is no fallout. That's kind of like saying, there is no use crying over spilled milk and there is no use in cleaning it up. We need to fix the problems that exist.
So again, you've done NOTHING to prove oppression. You've posted links of a FEW lawsuits while ignoring the studies of how minority names hinder chances of employment, how minorities make less than their White counterparts in the same position, how minorities with the same qualifications have higher unemployment rates. To prove oppression, you have to show how structurally and widespread the problem is. You haven't.

And....there you have it. So an 18 year old applying for college in 2011... TODAY should be penalized for things that took place during your father's lifetime. When will the account be squared? At what point will future generations of people who were not alive during the events in question no longer owe you?
Whites still hold a disproportionate share of power and previlege in this country. To say that Whites are oppressed is absolutely absurd.
Whites, however, are losing some of their dominance in the recent decades, which may cause some to feel alarm.
The balance of power in the world is shifting, not just in racial demographics in the US, but amongst nation states in the world.
It's you've been in a position of power and privilege for hundreds of years and you can see demographic changes that threaten that position in society you are going to see those people protest.
That is to a great extent the essence of the American Conservative Movement.
