White House promotes Muslim help against terrorism (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_MUSLIM_HEARINGS?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=US - broken link)

The White House is pushing a message of religious tolerance ahead of this week's congressional hearing on Islamic radicalism, which has sparked protests on grounds it unfairly singles out Muslims as potential terrorists.

President Barack Obama sent his deputy national security adviser, Denis McDonough, on Sunday to a Washington-area mosque known for its cooperation with the FBI and its rejection of the al-Qaida brand of Islam.

...

The speech came just four days before the congressional hearing, which has already given rise to protests on grounds it is unfairly targeting Muslims. In New York's Times Square on Sunday, about 300 people gathered to speak out against the planned congressional hearing, criticizing it as xenophobic and saying that singling out Muslims, rather than extremists, is unfair and divides the nation.

It is common sense that radical Islamists are wishing and doing harm on Americans as a part of their jihad.

Someone name for me another religion that is randomly attempting to kill Americans as a part of their religion.

Why not sit and wait to see what happens in the hearing instead of pandering to the Muslims?

I wonder how many non-Muslims have been involved in successful and attempted, but unsuccessful attacks in this nation. I am sure that Obama doesn't know the number but too many liberals of all stripes seem to be going along with him as he tries to make the way of the radical Muslims so much easier with this kind of proactive crap.

Usually when one investigates a problem it behooves one to target specific individuals and organizations but witch hunts are just so much more fun.

There isn't any religion doing that.

It's just mind-boggling that anyone even tries to make an excuse for islam. Almost daily you read of some attack, beheading, bombing, etc that is done not just by a muslim.

However you spin it, something is broken with the religion.

Islam, or the same old reasons that folks have always killed one another, greed, and power, those who have it kill to keep it and those without kill to get it. Religions is just a facade.
