I hope this happens. Some interesting information could come from this.

Ah yes- blame.

Congress is like the do-nothing employee at work. You know, there is always one who never does much of anything, and so when the sh** hits the fan he/she points out how different it would have been if he/she did it..

But one must take note of buttered bread. You can't complain about the Steak if you've eaten over half of it. Congress ate near the whole thing!

I think they will come out better having these hearings after the election because if they start before the election both sides will play politics with this and you'll see more grandstanding etc.

They will play politics???? They have been playing for too long now . it's time to get serious about "AMERICA" before there is none. Its time to put and end to all this , stop the 15 million dollar Bonuses, and $1,000,000.00 a week!!!!for a consultant that had a part in this all happening. Is it just me or are they really thinking we are that stupid????

They are chest-deep in the problem. Just look at the list of senators who have received cash from those lending institutions. Also look at the list of board members, and you will realize that Congress won't do much about it, but to blame avery body else except themselves for the mess. If they really wanted to regulate it, they could have done that long ago, and as late as 2007.

it is like a kid asking a kid who stole the cookies, when they both have chocolate on their hands and crumbs on their faces.

I really doubt the politicans are going to do muich about this as they are too guilty of neglect. They remember will call the witnesses thewy want to hear from. there will be no independent panel setup. They will have their talking points and questions written out by their staff. Look at the current hearings and you often see them referring to their notes the staff gave them. Their looking for a scape goat because so mcuh they have been vocal in suppoorting loans for those that can not afford themj and refusing to look at Fannis Mae and Freddie mac.

Great. Now we get to see a bunch of preening, self-serving, hypocritical a**holes mugging for the cameras.

Can't wait.
