Example? The only reason you see any renewable projects is because of massive governement subsidies. For example soalr and wind can get a 2 cent kWh tax credit, we can make electric with coal for 5 cents... Too that you can add the state and local subidation they get, usually in the form of property tax incentives..... and then when its all said and done this power is 2X the average rate. The only reason they can sell it is because of mandates.

Stimulus aside because I haven't researched it most of these subsidies are tax breaks that effectively subsidize production. Very little goes to R&D, the exception is coal. Nearly all the subsides they get go to R&D.

Just one more thing to add about how expensive some of these renewables are. In Spain they found out some of these solar producers were generating power at night.... they were utilizing diesel generators which isn't exactly the most efficient way to generate electric but the price guarantee from the Spanish government made it very profitable.

Heres a news for ya he who controls the majority of oil will control the majority of the world.....plain and simple. It is a phony moronic Utopian pipe dream if people think that we are going to get off oil and the rest of the world will follow. The World runs on oil and it will for generations to come get over it and get after it!!
