Her argument is not perfectly reasoned. She basically doesn't know what she's talking about, which is something she's good at. She has no scientific background to discuss this issue. You know what's really funny? Over on the education forum, someone was arguing that lawters don't need to take math!

Yes, Chernobyl is a nature preserve now, not! We have such a nature preserve near Denver too, the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. It's unfit for human habitation, that's why it's a "natural area" now.

you cannot put your hatred and bias for coulter aside for one second, to listen, open your mind and consider an opposing point of view. coulter imo did not take a personal position, but rather just put forward an argument made by many physicists.

You've got to do better than that.

She's the one that said radiation won't hurt you, it will stop you from getting cancer.
Offering to provide her transport to the site is not wishing her dead, it's a proactive cancer treatment.
I must admit.
Nice job!

i'm wondering if anyone actually watched the video? agreed, coulter normally makes a fool of herself, but i don't see what all the fuss is about when she's just the messenger, relaying the research of many physicists. it really baffles me that in 2011, anytime someone challenges convention, there are repeatedcalls to send them to the looney bin! it's very worrying.

Ann Coulter hasn't said anything that didn't boil down to "LOOK AT ME!" for years, has she?

Ann Coulter does not know what she is talking about. She took something out of context.

Well, that's just all sorts of silly. There's no solid evidence of radiation hormesis ever being observed in humans. There's ample evidence that serious dosage of ionizing radiation will kill you. Dead.

Citing the radiation hormesis hypothesis after a nuclear crisis is as helpful as pointing out to flood victims that water is, in fact, necessary for survival. Except that we know water is necessary, while nobody has yet proven any benefit to radiation.

Who thought it would be a wasteland? Not any source I've read. People left due to the very real danger from the short-lived isotopes. No real reason to go back now. Particularly not as the sarcophagus enclosing the remains of the reactor is beginning to fail.

She's a professional troll, angling for attention. A lecture on the hormesis hypothesis is not really useful right now. But she got us talking about her, so score one for Ann.

indeed, she isn't, but the nuclear physicists who study this kind of thing might be. fear is america's number one selling commodity. looking at the way we over react to everything, it isn't surprising why? i applaud coulter for adding a bit of objectivity into the debate, or for at least planting the seed for a debate. i will remain extremely cautious, perhaps fearful of radiation but it has got me thinking.

when all is said and done, i never thought i'd see the day where katiana and bill o'reilly agree on something. that's a giant leap to the right there kt, because i don't agree with o'reilly on anyhting! lol

Bwahaha! Funny.

Copernicus had two things going for him that Coulter doesn't:
  • He was an actual scientist who knew what he was talking about, and
  • - he was right.
Ann Coulter is a court jester.
