This Libyan crisis will turn ugly mark my word. It's not about democracy, it's about a bunch of adolescent minded idiot leaders. I mean look at this picture..........it speaks VOLUMES about the world we live in and just what goes on behind the backs of the American and European people. And we just grab our ankles and take it. Pathetic.
I've always believed that if we still had a draft we wouldn't be in the last few wars. As long as we view our enlisted men and woman as expendable this will continue!

IMO the draft would make it easier.
Nothing says "expendable" like the state taking you from your home, sticking a rifle in your hand and shoving you to the front line.

I don't know about that Frank, I think if some parents of an A student college age kid was forced to go off to war people would be screaming. I think enlisted soliders have the perception (not rightly so) of having less option/less going for them so to speak. I think that is why we (the American public)have been too complacent in this!
Doing what's right is it's own reward. If you act because you expect "gratitude" and/or "respect" in exchange, then you are really just a mercenary.
If you consider sacrificing your own people, destroying resources and spending billions a "reward".
And by what moral authority are we considered "right"?
