As it is now, a disabled veteran that's retired from the military cannot collect retired pay and disability benefits unless they're at least 50% disabled. An antique law considers it double dipping. Every year your politicians garner the vet votes with false promises of change for disabled vets.
Any opinions on this? Should the law, though very costly, be changed?
If I could choose where my tax $$ were spent, it wouldn't be on public union trolls, it would be spent on people who don't have their heads firmly planted in their colons and have actually DONE SOMETHING to deserve tax payer monies.
Stop spending money on and paying for services for illegal aliens, stop welfare cheating. Stop giving money to foreign governments, stop farm subsidies....
That will more than make up the money needed for the men and women who suffered physical damage fighting for their country.
These Brave men and women served honorably and faced the worst the enemies of our Country could throw at them.
So I would say YES they have earned our Respect and Support. The least we could do is provide for our War Heroes in their time of need. This Country wastes billions on able bodied lazy people who refuse to work and better themselves. The least we can do is try to repay the debt owed to Our Military Vets.
Don't have to give this a second thought, of course, and to me very well spent, unlike where so much of our tax paying money goes, down the drain.
Get the freaking illegals out of here, and give this respect to our Vets, the laws suck and should be changed. Costly as it may be, get the illegals out of here, who some are getting something for nothing, and give it to our vets, who served our Country.
Vets deserve these benefits long before the elected officials and government union employees do.
If the Vets don't get them, nobody else in government should.
