The Fast Fix: A judge of few words - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_newsroom/20110221/pl_yblog_newsroom/the-fast-fix-a-judge-of-few-words - broken link)

For someone who denounces Affirmative Action at every turn (espec in his autobiography), he doesn't do his cause much justice by remaining silent, appearing detached and seemingly copycatting Scalia's vote.

I'm really looking forward to Liberals trying to kick a black man off the Supreme Court.

This article is just another typical liberal attack on a minority that doesn't follow the liberal mindset that they expect all minorities to follow.

Thomas is underqualified. All he's done since he got on the court is ride Scalia's coattails.

He's certainly no Thurgood Marshall.

You guys are more obsessed with Clarence Thomas than any minority liberal has ever been. Black folks don't care about Clarence Thomas one way or the other for the most part. I'd venture to guess that just like most white Americans, they couldn't name more than a few justices if they could name any at all. He's not the topic of conversation at the barber shop.

But let Conservatives tell it, we NEVER stop thinking about the dude. It aint like that, trust me.

And yea, he's qualified. Else he wouldn't be there.

My issue with Thomas has nothing at all to do with his race or his politics.

He's simply not very smart, not enough to be a Justice.

I strongly disagree with much of what Scalia does - but I would never say he isn't qualified.

Thing is, what is QUALIFIED to begin with?

Sure, he's qualified by the constitutional requirements laid out for the job. Smart is something that is hard to define in this case. He sits there like a bump on a log, so i don't know how smart he is. It would be nice to see him ask some questions for a change.

But this idea that all minorities (read: blacks) hate the dude and think he's unqualified is a joke. Speaking for myself, i don't even think about the guy until i read his name in the paper or on-line. And even then, i don't have any particular malice for the guy. He doesn't provoke any passion from me one way or the other.

Perhaps he's just smart enough to know to keep his mouth shut.

Well you know the Right has to manufacture issues to justify their nonsense.

Yea, i'm actually well aware. I wish that black folks were as passionate about these issues as conservatives think we are. They have no idea that we're just as apathetic as everyone else.

Clarence Thomas. Pfffft.

In other words he doesn't side with you on things therefore you assume he's not smart enough to be a justice. We get it, really we do.
