National Weather Service did not have a banner week last week as equipment problems plagued some offices. Rep Wolf (R-VA) begs NWS/NOAA to not have furloughs and wants to work to give money to avoid furloughing forecasters. What does NOAA leadership do..... the sound of crickets is appropriate. I post this for info only.... this is not a democratic or republican problem....but a NOAA problem.
I am a NWS met in ND/MN so biased a little bit of course but the lack of leadership at NOAA is starting to show cracks in the system....make some decisions anything.
That's right. Raises and bonuses continue, foreign and military aid isn't affected, but cuts to critical service that directly affect Americans is on the front burner.
Your government..working FOR you or AGAINST you ?
Who needs a national weather service, we have the weather channel don't we. The whole thing should be in the hands of the private sector. If you don't get a hurricane or tornado warning, its your own fault for not subscribing. Oh yeah, getting rid of NOAA would help stop fueling the Climate Change Hoaxers.
Maybe we could give Egypt $1 billion instead of $2 billion and use that $1 billion to let NOAA fix their equipment.
Or maybe we can send $200 million instead of $550 million to Syria for bandaids and let NOAA fix their equipment.
Seems we have plenty of money to send to other countries to either fight or maintain their military while we let America fall apart.
You don't live in tornado alley or blizzard country. I live in both. What an incredibly ignorant thing to say.
Ignorance is assuming private weather services couldnt fullfill the same functions or more
