I would more say that they are trying to protect their power base as we are headed into really bad economic times and more printed money is just what we need. We can mint coins and we need more money in circulation.

I think many fail to realise that the 60 million in cuts proposed is chump cahnage considering the defcit. Een the proposal to cut 4 trilio in ten years isn't goig to do it. Our grand chilvren will be paying for the debt we have accumulated. Our grand children will be effected bu it before its paid off if the can is just kicked down the road.

the approach is simple.

Stop giving money to other nations
End the wars
cut defense by 65%
consolidate ALL healthcare under the new program... VA, Congress, Medicare/medicaid and so on... get the insurance companies out of the mix
eliminate Homeland Security and TSA
eliminate the Fed

Revenue
cut corporate taxes to encourage them staying here or moving back
let the bush tax cuts expire

These steps will result in savings of 2-3Trillion and revenue 1-2T
that is a 3-5T improvement

In addition just quit buying things from other country's...

It might hurt for a while but a huge tax on imported goods would eventually get the economy and employment going here...

Either way we are in for some pain...

We are doomed to failure if we stay on the path were on...

Sadly most are all too happy to just "go with it" and ride the current going straight down the crapper

One trillion dollars in a month?

This is a trillion dollars. $100 dollar bills on double stacked pallets, about 100 million on each pallet. Note the person located to the lower left for perspective.

What does one TRILLION dollars look like? (calculations & dimensions)

If you had a huge payloader and tractor trailer trucks lined up it would take all day to load them.

Whomever made that graphic needs to be fired. There are not 1000 pallets in the graphic.

There is 1000 in the first 10 rows alone, it's 10,000 altogether.

Remember each row is double stacked, it's 50*2 across and 100 deep.

100,000,000*10,000=1,000,000,000,000 I think that you need to check your math. (50*2)^2=10,000 10,000 pallets times $100 million per pallet is $1 trillion.
