The rocket fire is a directly result of their terrorism and occupation. Terrorism creates terrorism.
The only occupiers are the so called "Palestinians" that have been thrown out of other countries, thus creating thousands of refugees (usefull pawns for the terrorists).
Prophet of Doom - Islamic Clubs - Fatah

The Flotillas are a game to start war with Israel. Canada will send another ship next month They are begging Israel to give them an excuse. You are on the wrong side, if you want Israel to lose.

The treatment of Palestinians in other countries does not vindicate or exonerate the brutual and oppressive treatment of Palestinians in Israel, Gaza or the West Bank.

Also you viewpoint that many Arabs live happy and productive lives in Israel does NOT necessarily coincide with the opinions of many Arabs actually living in Israel.

Arab citizens of Israel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
Many Arab citizens feel that the state, as well as society at large, not only actively limits them to second-class citizenship, but treats them as enemies, impacting their perception of the de jure versus de facto quality of their citizenship.[143] The joint document The Future Vision of the Palestinian Arabs in Israel, asserts: "Defining the Israeli State as a Jewish State and exploiting democracy in the service of its Jewishness excludes us, and creates tension between us and the nature and essence of the State." The document explains that by definition the "Jewish State" concept is based on ethnically preferential treatment towards Jews enshrined in immigration (the Law of Return) and land policy (the Jewish National Fund), and calls for the establishment of minority rights protections enforced by an independent anti-discrimination commission.[144]

A 2004 report by Mossawa, an advocacy center for Palestinian-Arab citizens of Israel, states that since the events of October 2000, 16 Arabs had been killed by security forces, bringing the total to 29 victims of "institutional violence" in four years.[145] Ahmed Sa'adi, in his article on The Concept of Protest and its Representation by the Or Commission, states that since 1948 the only protestors to be killed by the police have been Arabs.[146]

The middle east is a perpetual hornets nest occuppied by savages who have stopped evolving and lack many of the redeemable behaviors found in humans elsewhere.
You've really got to get out more and stop comparing people to American standards. In every society there is a group that is extremely violent. Some places have a few and some have 100's. The ME (actually from Africa to Asia) is tribal so the extended family may be an entire town. Many of the people there have more redeemable behaviors than many Americans. That being said, their problems are leadership issues in the ruling clan. In the case of Hamas they are the ruling class. The general population has no choice but to follow them as a majority voted them into power in Gaza. Fatah in the West Bank is just a rebadge of the PLO. IMO Hamas and Fatah need to be removed as ruling clans and allow the people to grow. The Iron fists and corruption of both is stopping them from moving forward.

No Neilva, what is keeping them from moving forward is that Hamas is committed to creating an Islamic state of Palestine, which they take to be all of Israel. According to Hamas charter, 'the land of Palestine has been endowed to Islam and it is therefore the duty of all Muslims to liberate Palesting through violet jihad." In this regard, the charter of Hamas is indistinquishable from that of the PLO, and it differs only in respect to scope with thea or the Muslim Brother, Islamic Jihad, Hizballah, and al-Quaeda.
Who will support Israel?
As for muslims living in Israel, they do not allow non-muslims to enter their mosques, so at their request, the Israeli Defense Force stands guard for them, at the entrance. That is bending over backwards to accomodate to the point of absurdity.

How is that any different from what Israel did? They declared independence for "the Jewish state" in an area where 48% of the population was Palestinian.

So Sarahnyc, tell us why the Palestinians didn't declare the West Bank and Gaza as the "Palestinian State" when it was under ARAB control in 1949. They removed all Jews from those lands. What was stopping them????

I'm not to up on the history of the region, but I see that Israel was proclaimed in 1948, there was an Islamic defeat to Israel in 1967. I also believe there were treaties involved, such as Oslo Accords 1993, but muslims don't honor treaties. All this time there has been a concerted effort to get the Palestinians to be self-governing, but that does not fit the Islamist intent, which is to destroy Israel and all the Jews. Then they will come for the Christians and all infidels. Then they will turn on eachother in earnest. the end

The Arabs had Gaza, the West Bank and half of Jerusalem. Why didn't the Palestinians proclaim their nation?

Because they didn't think that way. The independent Palestinian state next to Israel was actually debated as a possibility in Israeli left circles after the 67 war. Only later Arafat adopted it as a good strategy.
In spite the current call for an independent Palestinian state, the Palestinian leadership doesn't really like the idea:
1) They will have to build a new state from zero with huge problems ahead. Once the unity behind the struggle against Israel is over, one will turn against the other.
2) They have no solution for the millions of refugees outside the west bank and Gaza. What will be the future of those people?
3) They will have to end the war with Israel, which is their only bonding factor...
4) Jerusalem: despite their hatred for Israel, many Arabs and Muslims do not necessary want to see Palestinians ruling the holy places.
5) The protesters on Cairo's streets and other Arab capitals spook the Palestinian leadership. Once they have their independent state, their population may condemn them for being inapt and corrupt.
Bottom Line: Palestinians will continue to seek unity by fighting and harassing Israel, occasionally declaring Jihad. A limited state is at best a stepping stone towards their final goal to destroy Israel.
