89 percent of the population of Poland is Catholic. Most likely any 14 - 15 year old has several younger siblings and has been exposed to parental pregnancies. If they are the "babies" of the family, then most likely they have been exposed to pregnancies of older siblings or pregnancies of cousins.
Ostroda, Poland has a population of 33,600 people and from the looks of it on Google Earth, is in a predominately agricultural area. The odds that these children had "absolutely no idea" that intercourse leads to pregnancy is astronomical, if you ask me.
I think it is a convenient excuse. Either that or the old stereotype that Polish people are pathologically stupid is true.
I find it hard to believe in Poland or not that at 14 and 15 you never heard of intercourse. Kids today are kids today, no matter where they live, they have one over on us when we were there ages.
Sad fact of life, is that todays teenageers, like it or not, are having sex at much earlier ages, good parenting or not.

The new fad now is to get pregnant in senior year so that they can have their own "page" in the yearbook.
Now think about that...18 year old girls striving to get pregnant so they can get their own page in the year book. So once enough of them get pregnant to get their own page..then what ? Have they even though beyond that "page" ?
"Sex Ed" has never worked in the US and if anything it is the MAIN reason why youth are having intercourse younger and younger.
