Like all good right wingers, I turn to FOX News to learn the truth.

Here is their report on the speech.

Nothing about being too partisan, or mean spirited.

It does say that Republicans ridiculed him.

But that's OK with the OP I'm sure. Being an authoritarian, means never having to apologize for double standards. Whatever can score a political point, use it, and move on.

No, that was part of the problem, it was not a "budget speech" nor was it a speech addressing the deficit, as it was billed to be. Obama gave a campaign speech today, nothing more.

Obama Sinks to the Occasion | The Weekly Standard

The numbers prove the deficit cannot be cut in a meaninful and substinative way by "taxing the rich" alone. It is time to admit that the experiment of Socialism and the social entitlement programs of Wilson, FDR, and Johnson have failed in epic proportions. They are crashing our economy. Obama's idea of a great country is unlimited spending on social entitlements. He could not be further from the truth. He is directly endorsing that producers in this country be condemed to servitude in a welfare state.

Obama wants to be able to automatically punish the American taxpayers via a tax hike everytime the federal government overspends. How does that make any sense? How is that anything less than thievery? How is that the "limited government" defined by our Constitution?

Obama on wealthy tax cuts, "I refuse to renew them again". Now that's a very unpopular thought.

President Barack Obama unveiled his long-awaited deficit reduction plan Wednesday, calling for a mix of spending reductions and tax hikes that the White House claims would cut federal deficits by $4 trillion over the next 12 years without gutting popular programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
Obama seeks $4 trillion in cuts; GOP assails call for tax hikes - CNN.com

So what upsets the Repubs about this?

If we don't want to pass this down to our children, we should pay the necessary taxes instead of gutting education of our children.

Nobody is claiming you can balance the budget by "taxing the rich alone".

This is some fantasy liberal argument you've invented and have set about to disprove it....LOL

Because the president, while imploring for bipartisanship, continues to divide, divide, divide. It would be a joke, if it wasn't so serious.

Once again, the narcissist-in-chief makes it all about him. How hard it is for him. How life sucks for him. All the while telling us we need more government.

Paul Ryan Reaction | Obama's Budget Reduction Address | Video | Mediaite

The classlessness of obama just keeps on shining through.
Oh the "courageous" and "brave" "serious" budget wonk Paul Ryan has his feelings hurt because Obama grew a semblance of a spine for half a minute to actually bash Ryan's disgusting Raw Deal.

You know, the only part about Ryan's deal that is disgusting is that it does not go far enough. We need to cut $4 trillion in 5 years or less and and cut the size and scope of the federal government by more than 35% across the board immediately. Solving the problems created by Progressive spending of 25 years is going to have to be painfully raw.
