Then Joe Sixpack would be pretty stupid. Sociopaths have certain traits that can be found in the DSM IV. There's a good book called "The Sociopath Next Door" that I'd recommend to anyone. It's an easy read.
I'm confused. You can diagnosis a sociopath based on traits. But you call out someone for diagnosing a narcissist?

But George W. Bush who had a string of failed businesses to his name, mediocre grades and no speaking ability was merely demonstrating his desire to make America better when he ran for office!

Somehow this essay comes to mind after reading that drivel:

The Paranoid Style in American Politics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As opposed to Barack Hussein with ZERO private sector experience, hidden grades from the same college as President Bush, and stutters like Mel Tillis when he isn't reading from a teleprompter.

I'm sorry, but you can't just read the DSM or a book from Barnes & Noble, and then start diagnosing the people around you. It takes extensive training to evaluate a person and to determine what illnesses that person may suffer from. It takes training for a psychiatrist to remain objective during the diagnosis process, and I think it's highly doubtful any of the people here who are gleefully attributing NPD to the President are maintaining any kind of objectivity whatsoever.

Well does he show any of these characteristics of a sociopath? how many do any of us on this forum do.

One of the key signs of a sociopath is manipulation, does he manipulate. He is good at it.

Another key trait is being a compulsive liar. They are very good at hiding the truth, then have to lie to cover the first lie they told, or change the story, or put the blame on someone else, does he show any of these signs.

Does he have a devislish charm about him, and witts to boot. Sociopath's have a keen outlook, lively personality, and charm about them, that draws so many people to them, does he have this trait.

Sociopath's have little or no emotion at all. They actually have shallow emotions. They cannot show warmth and appreciation towards others, does he do this. They show cold emotions making them very strong. They make bogus promises to others to get the job done, but they are fake as they come. Does he show any of these traits.

This is silly, i can go on but what does it prove. Will this help to get us on the right track, no i hardly think so. At this point in our economy, i would take him as a sociopath, if it meant getting our economy, back to where we once were, but i know that is just a dream.

I was just watching some of the Barbara Walters interview with Obama that comes on tonight. He does act like a sociopath.

Maybe Obama is just cold and detached.

Barack Obama: Our president is a sociopath

I'll play.

1. GLIB and SUPERFICIAL CHARM -- A sociopath never gets tongue-tied.

Well he can either be a sociopath or you have to drop the teleprompter gibes. Your choice.

2. GRANDIOSE SELF-WORTH -- a grossly inflated view of one's abilities and self-worth, self-assured, opinionated, cocky, a braggart. Sociopaths are arrogant people who believe they are superior human beings.

Fail.

3. NEED FOR STIMULATION or PRONENESS TO BOREDOM -- an excessive need for novel, thrilling, and exciting stimulation; taking chances and doing things that are risky.

Golf and basketball! Fail.

4. PATHOLOGICAL LYING -- can be moderate or high; in moderate form, they will be shrewd, crafty, cunning, sly, and clever; in extreme form, they will be deceptive, deceitful, underhanded, unscrupulous, manipulative, and dishonest.

He's a politician it goes with the turf. I'll give you this one.

5. CONNING AND MANIPULATIVENESS- Item #4 in the degree to which exploitation and callous ruthlessness is present, as reflected in a lack of concern for the feelings and suffering of one's victims.

Oh how we would love him if he were callous and ruthlessness when dealing with the GOP. Fail.

6. LACK OF REMORSE OR GUILT -- a lack of feelings or concern for the losses, pain, and suffering of victims; a tendency to be unconcerned, dispassionate, coldhearted, and un empathic. This item is usually demonstrated by a disdain for one's victims.

Well, he didn't apologize to the bin Laden Family, score another for you.

7. SHALLOW AFFECT -- emotional poverty or a limited range or depth of feelings; interpersonal coldness in spite of signs of open gregariousness.

Fail.

8. CALLOUSNESS and LACK OF EMPATHY -- a lack of feelings toward people in general; cold, contemptuous, inconsiderate, and tactless.

Fail again

9. PARASITIC LIFESTYLE -- an intentional, manipulative, selfish, and exploitative financial dependence on others as reflected in a lack of motivation, low self-discipline, and inability to begin or complete responsibilities.

Fail.

10. POOR BEHAVIORAL CONTROLS -- expressions of irritability, annoyance, impatience, threats, aggression, and verbal abuse; inadequate control of anger and temper; acting hastily.

Are we talking about no drama Obama???? Fail.

11. PROMISCUOUS SEXUAL BEHAVIOR --

FAIL!!!

12. EARLY BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS -- a variety of behaviors prior to age 13, including lying, theft, cheating, vandalism, bullying, sexual activity, fire-setting, glue-sniffing, alcohol use, and running away from home.

FAIL

13. LACK OF REALISTIC, LONG-TERM GOALS -- an inability or persistent failure to develop and execute long-term plans and goals; a nomadic existence, aimless, lacking direction in life.

Depends on your perspective, 1/2 point.

14. IMPULSIVITY -- the occurrence of behaviors that are unpremeditated and lack reflection or planning;

Clearly a Fail.

15. IRRESPONSIBILITY -- repeated failure to fulfill or honor obligations and commitments; such as not paying bills, defaulting on loans, performing sloppy work, being absent or late to work, failing to honor contractual agreements.

Fail

16. FAILURE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR OWN ACTIONS -- a failure to accept responsibility for one's actions reflected in low conscientiousness, an absence of dutifulness, antagonistic manipulation, denial of responsibility, and an effort to manipulate others through this denial.

Fail

17. MANY SHORT-TERM MARITAL RELATIONSHIPS -- a lack of commitment to a long-term relationship reflected in inconsistent, undependable, and unreliable commitments in life, including marital.

I thought this was about Obama, not Gingrich.

18. JUVENILE DELINQUENCY -- behavior problems between the ages of 13-18; mostly behaviors that are crimes or clearly involve aspects of antagonism, exploitation, aggression, manipulation, or a callous, ruthless tough-mindedness.

Fail.

19. REVOCATION OF CONDITION RELEASE -- a revocation of probation or other conditional release due to technical violations, such as carelessness, low deliberation, or failing to appear.

Fail

20. CRIMINAL VERSATILITY -- a diversity of types of criminal offenses, regardless if the person has been arrested or convicted for them; taking great pride at getting away with crimes.

Fail

2.5 out of 20? FAIL

Parasitic lifestyle is an interesting aspect.

Obama may be the Super Parasite.

Just for S&G's I stipulate to your description. Now what does that to the score??

3.5 out of 20?

I think you need a little bit better score to classify anyone as anything.
