If it was heroic to free the people held at Dachau and Auschwitz then it would be equally heroic to free the people of North Korea. Right?

FrontPage Magazine - The Crimes of Kim Jong Il

Quote:
One of the worse regimes operating against all commonly accepted humanitarian principles is that of communist North Korea. It is a small country. Population estimates range around 20-22 million; the government is so cloistered that real statistics are unattainable. But small size does not preclude gigantic abuse. Conservative estimates place the number of North Korean citizens killed by starvation in the past decade at 2-3 million. That is 10% or greater of the population. Apply that ratio to the US or European population base and the real horror sinks in. Paradoxically, this mass starvation occurred during a period when the North Korean regime of Kim Jong Il was the largest recipient of American food aid of any other country. But Kim and his communist party minions spread food aid where it would do their regime the most good: to prop up the military and to sell on the black market to line corrupt bureaucratic pockets. His people, the Dear Leader, arrogantly said, could 'eat bark.'

North Korean Prison Camp Escapee Tells of Horrors, Worries About Those Left Behind - washingtonpost.com

Quote:
In the book, Shin describes the "common and almost routine" savagery of the camp: the rape of his cousin by prison guards and the beating to death of a young girl found with five grains of unauthorized wheat in her pocket. He once found three kernels of corn in a pile of cow dung, he writes. He picked them out, cleaned them off on his sleeve and ate them. "As miserable as it may seem, that was my lucky day," he writes.

What about China, Burma, Cuba, Venezuela, and a few other countries just for good measure.

The people of North Korea cant take out this fool? They can if they try. I know this is about why are we helping Libya but Libya is not a nuclear power. Don't have nukes get beat up simple as that. One day if the koch brothers and the tea party get their way America for the mass population will be the same as North Korea. I hope we have the bravery to die on our feet rather than live on our knees.

It's hard to take out Hitler when you haven't eaten in a week.

North Korea has them all beat.

What if our leaders back in WWII had said, "Save the Jews? But what about all of the other people in the world?"

What's your point?

We learned of millions of people starving in concentration camps and we knew what we had to do.

That had nothing to do why the US went to war.

Do you have any idea what prompted the US to enter WWII?

It is none of our business.

As an aside if you wanted your poll to be viewed as honest you should have left off the personal embellishments following the choices.
