Do you liberals enjoy being professional victims? It sure seems that way.

The assumption that simply asking one to become an adult, be responsible for thier own well being, and to seek solutions from themselves is not "hurting someone".

Liberalism is the resignation to perpetual childhood in which one abrogates personal responsibility to the cradle of government support. One simply has to sacrifice personal liberty and freedom in exchange for the "binky" of government support. That is being a child.

Kerby. I completely understand where you're coming from. I too am a compassionate individual. Now, there is a difference between helping and forcing your beliefs on someone. Furthermore, in order to help someone they have to want it. Not to go and throw religion into it, but I truly believe as well that God helps those that help themselves. For me though an easy rule to live by is treat others how you would like to be treated. Whether it's in public, or hear on a message board.

Why do Democrats push the ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY instead of an EMPOWERMENT MENTALITY?

I'm sure he thanks you all!.
Sorry, but the majority of the hate I see on this forum comes from the rabid left.

But, dear, it's not at all like you say. Liberals have jobs and do not live from the government.
It's the Republicans that sacrifice personal liberties for government protection from the 'bad guys'. Patriot act. Personal liberties are more than owning guns.
Childish is insisting to always have one's way.
Please don't hold your breath until you turn blue.

I stopped here..

Are you aware that Obama and the Democratic Congress not only renewed the Patriot Act, but claimed an expansion of powers under it?

Right.......................

The people who are on assistence (welfare, medicaid) are nearly all democrats. Why? Because the democrats support such a cohort with funding in exchange for votes. Those who "live off the government" are democrats for the most part.

The patriot act is for restricting the "personal liberties" of terrorists, who the liberals always seem to support. What American has been a "victim" of the patriot act since its inception? None.

What restrictions of liberties have the liberals demanded?

1. fairness doctrine- restriction of freedom of speech
2. restriction of gun ownership rights
3. increased buisness regulations through the EPA
4. restrictions on oil/gas/coal exploration
5. restrictions ownership of media outlets
6. restrictions on states rights
7. restrictions on inheritence (essentially eliminating the family farm)
8. mandates to loaning institutions to make high risk home loans to unsuitable borrowers
9. restrictions on the use of coal for energy

............... the list goes on. Liberals are for more and more government, which means fewer and fewer personal liberties.
