The Sons of Abraham have been trying to kill each other LOOOOOONG before America was even thought of.

Why the **** does the world expect the USA to "take charge" and bring peace to the Middle East???

America has no more to do with the region than Canada, UK, Germany or France.

Why us?

We have enough stuff to deal with at home!

Bbbut Obama is the second coming.

Really though, the more the administration can stir things up elsewhere, the easier it is to get things done here.

One of President Obama's campaign promises was to strive for peace in the middle east, if he
didn't try you and RWNJs like you would be whining that he broke another campaign promise....

Point out where I said Obama should wade into the cesspool of Mid-East politics.

There's oil in Nigeria and the Norway but you don't see us building schools and roads for them or "negotiating" their local spats.

Most of the worlds oil is in the middle east, thus they effect the price more than any other region.

We import actual little oil from the middle east. We get most of ours from Canada and domestic sources. But oil is a world wide commodity, and when the region that controls the majority of the worlds oil says they are going to do something, everyone pays attention.

Thus, we remain the police department of the region, because of its vital strategic natural resource.
