The American Spectator : AmSpecBlog : Netanyahu's Public Disrespect of Obama Hurts Israel

Quote:
I'm a conservative, a strong friend and supporter of Israel, and I like the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. But like The Atlantic's Jeff Goldberg, I was taken aback by Bibi's statement of disrespect for President Obama.
It is not polite to be rude to your close friend in his living room especially when the press is recording the whole conversation.

Several posters have tried to make the point that Netanyahu is controversial in Israel due to his hard-line stance. And it's very rude to insult the sitting president of a country that helps to defend your very existence, financially, militarily and diplomatically.

Good grief, 0bama just insulted Netanyahu, by making a televised speech, while the Israeli Prime Minister's plane was in the air flying to meet with our president, boldly declaring that Israel should redraw it's national borders to 1967, a time when they were continually invaded, and you are upset that Netanyahu may have used words that might have been disrespectful?

So what? Another tempest in a teapot.
Keep arguing America, while the country sinks further into the swamp.

Wow. Disrespect is to announce extremely controversial, never before uttered foreign policy that would spell the doom of Israel as a nation, while their leader is in the air, flying in to meet with 0bama. 0bama could not have waited to discuss this clearly unacceptable policy with Netanyahu after he landed, he instead chose to go public before discussing it???

This would be like our country officially inviting the president of Taiwan to the White house, and while his plane is in the air, 0bama declares US policy is that Taiwan should reunify with China.

A. How much American paycheck money do we give to Taiwan?

B. How many American soldiers have died protecting Taiwan over the last 30 years?

That's funny, disrespected?

After Obama disrespected Bibi yesterday, I'm surprised Obama didn't get a left hook and an overhand right, followed by a left uppercut and a right cross, from Bibi.

I would have.

What is Hamas?

Hamas is the largest and most influential Palestinian militant movement. In January 2006, the group won the Palestinian Authority's (PA) general legislative elections, defeating Fatah, the party of the PA's president, Mahmoud Abbas, and setting the stage for a power struggle. Since attaining power, Hamas has continued its refusal to recognize the state of Israel, leading to crippling economic sanctions.
