The biologically female parent should practice what she preaches.

She refers to herself as a "full time mom".

If "mom" isn't gender related, then what is?

These gems from the article tell me all I need to know about how nutty these people are:

"...Stocker teaches at City View Alternative, a tiny school west of Dufferin Grove Park, with four teachers and about 60 Grade 7 and 8 students whose lessons are framed by social-justice issues around class, race and gender...."

"...Last year, they spent two weeks in Cuba, living with local families and learning about the revolution. ....."

"...Witterick practices unschooling, an offshoot of home-schooling centred on the belief that learning should be driven by a child’s curiosity. There are no report cards, no textbooks and no tests...."

Of course the very same moonbat liberals who want to ban circumcision because it harms a child who can't speak for themself will be all in favor of this sort of thing.

I don't believe in gender roles, but unfortunately society does. They're raising a kid who doesn't know who he/she is and will be outcast from his/her classmates if this continues on as school begins. They should just be teaching him/her to do or like or say whatever they want, regardless of gender. That would get their beliefs across without actually harming the kid's social life...
And besides, why are they telling the media?

Of course the kid will know what s/he is.
I agree with the rest of your post, though.

They've "decided not to share Storm's sex for now." Will they pick a date to reveal the big news? What happens when Storm is old enough to go to school--won't someone find out at that time...or will Storm go to kindergarten in some kind of shroud? (And what will happen if some traitorous family member breaks ranks and lets the secret out?)

Maybe the parents are just testing the waters for a new reality TV show.
