If people would stop looking to government and laws and instead just did what they themselves wanted to do the world would be a better place.
But everyone has been trained to look for 'someone else' to do things for them.
There is no need for a law either permitting suicide or making it illegal.
And to those that DO want a law to give people the 'right' to kill themselves you might want to reconsider your position.
Government and laws do not GIVE you rights, you already have them.
Silly argument.
It's the difference between me sneaking out to the closed garage when no one is home, starting the car, and having a loved one find the horror scene versus dressing in dignity, surrounded by you chosen loved ones, saying proper goodbyes and holding their hands as you go.

You don't need to sneak out anywhere, you just do it.Stop looking to government, try thinking and acting on your own.
Also there is little dignity in dying, you poop yourself.

"Looking to the government"???
What?
NO, that's the repug's/neocon's department, a law for everything.....we want the government to step aside and let suffering people decide when to end their lives....good grief , is that so complicated!!
AND, some people may be so weak with pain and illness they cannot do it themselves....so YOU want them to languish in pain for months or years, YOU want MORE government interference making laws against a person choosing to end their own life????

You want it made legal, you want a law to allow assisted suicide, that is looking to the government.

If you could read and comprehend, you would notice I do not want ANY law allowing OR banning suicide,it is no-one's business....But YOU want your beloved nanny government to hand you some 'right'(stupid though you have to be to think you can be given a right) to have another guy kill you.

Ok, apparently this is complicated. Currently anyone who assists someone in dying, even with counseling and by requests, will face charges for at least manslaughter. What people want is the law making it illegal to be removed. That equals less government interference, which is what you say you support. So if you are consistent in what you believe, then you would support removal of the laws making assisted suicide illegal.

Are you consistent in your beliefs or not?
Sigh,how difficult is this....
READ what I have written.
There should be NO laws against suicide, either pro OR con.
It is not the governments business.
YOU want to make it the government's business by allowing others to help in killing people.
Nothing is stopping a person from killing themselves right now,and the family can watch if they so feel the need.
You cannot however shoot the person in the head, you have to let them do the shooting....seems simple enough even a Yankee could understand....

Good point. Why is there a law against assisted suicide? It should be between you, your family, and your doctor. We are not free, if the government denies us individual choice.
