Hope and change; sounds like we better hope we have more change in our pockets! That is if you want healthcare.

I sure hope we make it to 2012!

, according to a new report, and the drop in Missouri was the third sharpest in the nation.[LEFT]

Now only if people creating threads and posting links... read about what they try to present as "discussion".

"The percentage of non-elderly people with employer coverage dropped from 75.3 percent in 1999-2000 to 63.4 percent in 2008-2009, according the report by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the State Health Access Data Assistance Center. The 11.9 percent decline in Missouri traied only Indiana's 12.9 percent slide and Mississippi's 14.4 percent. Nationally, employer coverage dropped 8 percent."

There is no hope for change in these forums.

Hm, seems like that trend was in full swing under Bush So why do you assume anything will change 2012, assuming you think there will be a Republican president?

Your employer shouldn't feel he has to offer you health insurance any more than he does car insurance.

Yeah we should all just work like dogs for scraps while the execs at the top make out like bandits with millions and millions in compensation, stock options, benefits etc. LOL.......you sound like a good little lemming. Keep your head down, do your job, and maybe one day you'll be invited into the club. SUCKA!

The employer has to pay for it one way or another. If not directly, they will have to pay you higher wages so you can afford private health insurance. Employees without health insurance, and thus usually unhealthy employees, are the last thing an employer should want.
And don't forget that in many branches companies are trying to find good people, they can't afford not to offer health insurance and other perks as long as the competition does.
Some companies simply try to outsource that necessity to the government so they can make even more profits.

Linking employment to healthcare in the first place is a stupid system. It's very disappointing that the 2010 healthcare act does relatively little to sever those ties.

People shouldn't be working to have health insurance. The fact that many do, points at the debacle in more ways than one.

If they aren't going to offer HC, then they need to raise people's pay because whenever you get hired HR tells you:

"we only pay this amount in wages because your HC is counted as part of your salary".

If it is part of my salary, I want what it cost them for my premium in my check. They won't do this though, they will use this as an excuse to save money while strapping the worker with all of the HC coverage.

The compensation package you agreed to when hired has nothing to do with what your boss or what the president of the company makes. If the CEO had your skill set, he wouldn't be the CEO. If you want more from your employer, go earn it. Don't complain about it here.

I wish you guys would stop throwing out these emotionally charged straw man arguments. They're not doing anything to add to the discussion - unless your objective is simply to rile people up and respond angrily to you, thus making you feel like you might actually be an important human being. Is that it?
