But Canada proves you can be civil and NOT end up like North Korea. Come on. Civility means disagreeing without viewing the other as evil. Something which we Americans tend to do a lot.

We're actually quite civil considering our past. Politicians here used to cross the aisle and punch each other in the face, and actually make insults during election season. Something they don't do today in their "negative" ads.

I'll grant you that. I wouldn't return to the 1790s or 1850s at all. But I do think we could do with a little more civility. I'm beginning to think it's truly hampering our ability to solve the problems we're facing.
