A $108 000 pension for lifeguards?- MSN Money
How else can the union bosses justify increased union dues, unless they bloat pensions, benefits and salaries?

Every dollar that government spends, comes directly or indirectly out of the hands of private sector employees. What will it take for CA taxpayers to finally say "enough" and demand that their money is spent responsibly?

This is all coming to a head at State, County and City levels. It cannot continue.

SD will be doing away with the whole concept of pensions (except PD) shortly.

High risk job? Do you have statistics on how many lifeguards are killed in the line of duty every year?

yup, and in true union fashion, when TSHTF, the union screwed the new guys:

Quote:
Faced with public outrage, and layoffs, the lifeguards quickly negotiated a deal that cut pensions for new hires by as much as 50%, and increased their pension contributions, to 9% of their pay from 3.5%.

I can post more if you'd like. There are union parking lot attendants and toll collectors here in MA making 80-100k + not including benes. Would you say that's reasonable?

Rather than whining about what others make in our capitalist society go out and do better yourself

This isn't about bettering myself. I'm happy with what I've EARNED and the life I've built.

I don't feel that it's reasonable for these workers to get a pension at all. Why should other people be forced to pay for their retirement?

They would rather worry about a ParaMedics Pension than the $4 billion annual in taxes that the top 25 Hedge Fund Managers steal from us annually. How Republikan
