The fast food generation is finally paying for all that fast food.
Poll: Obesity hits more boomers than others in US - Yahoo! News
"They're going to be expensive if they don't get their act together," says Jeff Levi of the nonprofit Trust for America's Health. He points to a study that found Medicare pays 34 percent more on an obese senior than one who's a healthy weight.
About 60 percent of boomers polled say they're dieting to lose weight, and slightly more are eating more fruits and vegetables or cutting cholesterol and salt."
Of course obesity has hit the Baby Boomers the hardest, they are middle-aged going on retirement. Those are the years when weight gain accelerates and it becomes harder to lose.
The same thing will happen to Gen-X, Gen-Y, the Millenials etc. when they reach 50. I'll predict the next generations will be fatter than the Boomers because those kids grew up eating mostly industrialized food full of corn syrup; fast-food which is full of salt, sugar, and fat; and artificial food that comes in a box, bag, or can.

This will be the justification a committee of 15 unelected people will use to constrain Americans to modify their behavior once ObamaCare is in full swing. There's no end of tyranny when you can claim to compel someone to comply with government dictates either for their own good or because their personal choices impose an added expense of public monies.
I'm almost 100% confident that the majority of my generation has and currently is learning a lot from the Boomers' many, many, many mistakes. You could probably add the older Gen Xers into that as well.
I always wonder about boomers who complain about Medicare costs going up as they sit in front of the TV noshing down high calorie crap while approaching retirement. If they make it to retirement, they will be part of that "increasing cost".
I do get a inner smile though after I see some one tooling around on their rascal (with 02 tank) saying we should eliminate it because of the cost. I wonder how long that person would survive if they got what they wanted.

They are hideous and slothful and very poor role-models for the young generation.
