Obama's 5 big mistakes - CNN.com

Unlike most folks here who are loyal to their political party, I don't belong to one so I have plenty of criticism to pass around. So I'll add one more:

Obama's biggest mistake was pushing healthcare reform during an economic recession where people don't have jobs to help afford it. When people are given the choice of either a job or healthcare reform, they will choose the former 10 times out of 10.

To top it off, now that we have the debt crisis, it makes him look like an idiot. We wouldn't have had to face this crisis quite this quickly if not for his wild spending spree.

Based on ramblings in this forum, I think this one (from the linked article by David Frum) summarizes the root of perceptions:

"Talk radio shows accuse Obama of acting like a Third World dictator heading a thug government. That's a devilishly ingenious line of attack on a president who actually makes weaker use of his domestic power than any since Jimmy Carter."

Like I said in the other thread, you obviously do not have a clue about how the laws are enacted in the USA. But then, you don't use this excuse when it comes to, say, housing debacle and like, when republicans were in control. So, I have to believe that you are aware, but you would rather lie, distort and mislead.

Obama or McCain the result would be the same.
Central planning is a failure no matter the ideology of the experts.

I'll take this from the article as a summary.

To borrow the answer from Fred Armisen's imitation of Obama on "Saturday Night Live": "I'm seeing two big accomplishments: jack and squat."

It's a little premature to be writing obituaries on Obama's presidency. He is in a very similar position to Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, at this point in their first terms. Except his poll numbers are about 15% higher.
