If I was a parent sixty years ago, I would probably say yes, they should be illegal as a violation of public decency -- but 1963 was a time when I think most middle-class kids were at least somewhat protected from anything that was vulgar and sexual.
But now (and in today's world), I am much more Libertarian in my views, and as such things don't actually hurt anyone, I would say NO, this should not be illegal.

You know the government has too much money and time on its hands when they are arresting people for stuff like this. Meanwhile, gutter-trash gang-bangin' thugs are regularly committing violent crimes without consequence.
And offensive??? Perhaps. But no more offensive to me than seeing a rainbow flag. Both are sex related.
I wonder what happened. I can’t find any follow up, except that the case was postponed a few times. I’ve seen truck nuts over the years. Dumb and tacky but shouldn’t be illegal. Not sure it’s a free speech issue though.

Well, laws are laws. SC isn't exactly a hotbed of progressivism, either.
In the 12+ years since this thread was started - have the laws been changed?
...Bonneau Police Chief, Franco Fuda, wrote a $445 ticket to Virginia Tice on July 5. He said she had, what are known as Bulls Balls hanging off her truck. Fuda said the ornaments below the bumper, according to state law, are a public obscenity.
"It very specifically says you cannot have a human body part dangling from a vehicle anywhere or attached to a vehicle that the community as a whole may find offensive," Chief Fuda said...
If the law hasn't changed, one would have to assume it's because the fine folks of South Carolina don't want it changed. No?

How do you feel about those little stick-figure families, then?
As for the truck nutz - just explain that putting genitals on a truck that it didn't originally have makes it a trans truck and watch them disappear.
