Yep, this is my biggest beef with Tea Partiers. Aging, perpetually angry and undertaxed, whining white conservative Americans who will soon be a net drain on the economy, yet refuse to show generosity in their dwindling earning years. If they are successful, the attitude seems to be "I've got mine" and I would rather see the government implode than give it another dime. If they are not wealthy, the attitude seems to be "don't tread on me," but we all know they will be at the front of the line for SSN, medicare, prescription drug benefits, etc. And because of their sheer demographic mass, their selfishness may very well bankrupt the country or result in up to 50-100% higher tax rates for their own kids.

Hypocrites for the most part, and pretty unsavory at that.

From what I have seen, the phrase , "Tea Party Patriot" is a bad joke.

No, it should rename itself the "I won't pay child support" party.

I'm in the Tea Party and I haven't done or said any of those thing nor have the overwhelming majority of the members of the Tea Party so no, we shouldn't change our name...

Unless of course your intention is to negatively paint and attack an entire large group of people based on the actions and indiscretions of a small number of members in that group. You don't want to do that now do you? Wouldn't that be exactly what you claim the Tea Party does to members of other groups when you claim they're racist or sexist or whatever the claim of the day is?

We don't have to worry much about the Tea Party any more. They have adequately proven their damage to the American people. It will take a couple of election to get them purged from Congress and a decade or so to re-establish the Credit Worthiness of the US. Market is dumping while waiting for Congress to bypass the TPers and start moving forward.

The 'Tea Party' is NOT a party.
The Teajihadists 'tea party' is an extreme right, racist, fascist leaning faction of the Republican party. Don't forget that. They are Republicans. They run on the Republican ticket. They place and (R) behind their name.

They are R E P U L I C A N.

I didn't think one could "belong" to the Tea Party! I thought there was no real affiliation with this "Party", so the TP could disavow everything they stand for when convenient.
