Maybe I haven't been keeping up enough, but why is the debt ceiling raise under Obama causing such controversy? It happened under Reagan 18 times and our debt was high back then too (which is why there was a ceiling).

Why didn't the democrats try to default our country during W's several debt ceiling raises?

Because Barry spent over $4 Trillion to "fix" the economy and it did not work. Barry is a bad investment and needs to be ignored until a president with experience is elected.

Because the debt increase 30% in 2 years, this is unprecedented. Also debt as percentage of GDP is approaching record levels.

Some elements of Obamacare will kick in and need to be funded. Without raising the debt ceiling there won't be enough arugala to go around and the O'care will be delayed. Once kicked in, there's no turning back.

The figures from the CBO disagree with you. Where did you get your economics degree? No degree at all? Oh, what grades did you get in school. Oh, we should listen to you why?

Spending is out of control and our credit rating is potentially going to be downgraded if we don't reign it in.
