I am generally conservative and listen to both Conservative and Liberal Talk radio. All this backlash over the Tea Party has me at a loss. It seems to be that the Tea Party is against anything the Fed does that the Constitution does not give it the power to do. This would include interfering in private business (aside from basic regulation), leaving religion alone instead of taking religion out of schools, which shouldn't be run by the Feds either. ...Things like that. Is this what people are up in arms against or am I in the dark about things?
You must have been in a coma for the past month. Let me fill you in. The Tea Bags threatened to force the nation to default, p****** off everyone from the Republican leadership to membersof the the business community. The only people who weren't outraged by their actions were members of the LimBeck machine and destitute mountain dwelling conservative types who have nothing to lose, save a trailer.

Most Americans have been so thoroughly brainwashed that they actually believe that our Constitution is the enemy of the state.

Kind of in the dark.
For example, you talk about religion in school, which is usually a violation of the 1st amendment. The 14th amendment incorporated the bill of rights, which means the bill of rights now applies to state and local governments (and has for a 150 years now). That means religion in school violates the 1st amendment.
So by that logic, the tea party is actually going against the constitution, not upholding it.

They are a bunch of hypocrites. Whenever Obama is gone in 2016 so will they be. I see it only took a few months for them to turn on allen west. He is now known as the defector. Deficits ans spending mean nothing to them only that Obama represents an idea that they hate. That all men were created equal. They want the good ole 50's.

Well they talk in big, broad generalities, but the rubber meets the road when it comes to their politicians. So yes, you're missing the parts where they carve out exemptions for themselves and the groups they support.
They want to force austerity on everyone else, i.e. "Cut this, cut that, but don't touch my medicare."
They consider "tax deductions" to be a good thing, even though that raises taxes on everyone who isn't privildeged in the tax code.
They want the wage earner to pay a higher % of his/her income, than corporate taxes (0%) or billionaires. (0% capital gains).
Also, "The Fed" is the federal reserve bank. Based on what you said I assume you were talking about the U.S. government, not the central bank.
Knowing what we stand for isn't difficult or confusing, as long as you listen to US instead of the media and rambling know-nothings that post on Internet forums.
I'm not affiliated with the specific group that published this, but it sums things up very nicely:
They attempted to interrupt the status quo and the politicians, the media and the people, even those that look for change or complain about government, didn't like it. They're supposed to be loyal followers of the two major parties and allow business as usual in the name of compromise.

They are the same spoilt brats who protested things they didn't like in 60s. They're all grown up now -- traded in their silly haircuts for silly hats, but they're still making sure they get all the breaks and someone else pays the price.
