What is up with Bill Maher? He says he'd vote for Ron Paul if the election were today but then he goes and says a DUMB thing like the stimulous wasn't ENOUGH?????? Doesn't he GET that things like Stimulous and Quantitative Easing and government spending is why we are in SO MUCH DEBT (and that more debt won't help anything)?

As Peter Schiff says raising the debt ceiling and spending more money is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline!

That would mean he cares. And Obama could care less about our country, its people, or anyone other than himself.

It's not that he doesn't care, I think, it's just that he doesn't have the cajones to really fight about the issues he cares about. He tries to bring everybody together and make nice.
He's out of his depth.

Maher shows nothing but a snide disdain and animosity for everybody. He'd love to have Obama get mad and then get ripped to pieces by the media and his opponents. He's a loathsome person with few if any redeeming qualities. He is not Obama's friend, he's nobody's friend.

Absolutely. Obama is too much of a nice guy that wants to hold hands and bring everyone together to get along and have a great country. While this would be great in the perfect world, but the far right wants none of that and have been acting like uncaged wild animals ever since he took office. The democrats need a real brass balled/take no crap/put the right wing extremists in their place person like Howard Dean.

Sure, but do we want someone who would completely lose it in the midst of all this? This recession requires a cool head over the long haul. Havint a hissy fit will accomplish nothing. Ok, Obama lost this fight, he prevailed on Health Care (or at least took it further than anyone in my lifetime), he caught Bin Laden, and made the Tea Party at least blink on the debt debate. Obama is better on the long game. He my be nice, but he is very intelligent, strategic, and disciplined. I think you will see that he has a plan for the next year, and he will reel these wankers in. It is quite challenging to avoid a tit for tat with the far right. They are so nasty most of the time, that one cannot avoid looking petty by engaging with them. It is not the narrative the Obama wants. Nor is it the kind of mindless sniping that our country needs.

Maher? He just shoots off his mouth constantly. Great for a sound byte, but he's no leader.
