If people choose to have more children then they can bear then let them support them without any government incentive. They should starve and die hopefully, but don't let that mislead you. That doesn't mean there are limited resources. It just means she or he were not meant to stay in this planet for too long. And in every society there has always been poor and wealthy, if we haven't becomed extinct yet then don't expect for it to happen anytime soon.
Yes, there are absolutely limited resources. I certainly hope more people wake up and smell the fumes.

We've being seeing the results of limited resources for quite some time now. And if the rest of the world has your attitude, then there will be that many less resources for all people. You wish never to see wars? Then get your mind wrapped around the reality of limited resources, because there you will find the reasons for skirmishes, battles, and all-out wars in the future--and in the not-too-distant future at that!

I am sure with the moral decay that is promoted in today's society we will see more diseases that will kill off a good chunk of the population. Also if you ever raised a child there is no tax break that compensates for the cost of raising a child.

Well, we could terminate social security and medicare, this should help get rid of some of the old folks. This would be a good savings for younger folks too, a win/win situation, if you will.

We could nationalize health care, and ration the amount expended per person per year. This would accelerate those with significant illnesses out of the game.

We could terminate providing health care for kids uninsured. This could knock out some potential future breeders, kind of cutting down the source.

We could stop feeding prisoners sentenced to more than two years, opening up cell space, easing the prison overcrowding and resolving the death sentence debate. If you want to, we can toss all illegal aliens into prison for a three year sentence, fixing another issue as a bonus.

We could have the states terminate medicaid, getting rid of some of what many would identify as blight upon our environment.

We could tax the church property with property tax, lessening available funds for charity work for the helpless.

We could terminate SSI with the termination of social security, allowing us to get rid of those pesky handicapped folks. This also would reduce state expenses over the long term, and allow potential tax reduction.

We could do away with food inspection and drug validation, let the market place decide safety and effectiveness. Also, why do you need a prescription? If you saw it advertised on TV, it must be good and effective. Lets make all drugs available to everybody.

These make as much sense as many postings I have read. I'm sure many would think these would improve society over the long term.

Perhaps it isn't really a problem. Many recent articles in international publications analyze the problem of future declining populations, not how to solve unsupportable population growth, and I provided a couple of links to these in earlier postings.

Humans are a virus. We keep expanding. When we use a resource we move on till we use up that resource and so on.

What is the ultimate laugh is those whining about "breeding" have a life and a voice because of the very act of "breeding".

The solution is really simple. Limit, preferably by choice, family size to one or two children per couple. Because it takes just over two (IIRC 2.1 to 2.3) children per couple to maintain a stable population, a lower birth and survival rate will eventually stabilize or decrease the population. China has done this and their population will decrease particularly because they have way more men than women in the younger segments. This will lead to other problems such as being a neighbor when all these Chinamen start looking for wives.

The problem of resource availability has two components – The amount of resources available at a giving price and the amount used by each individual in a population. When a population is living in complete poverty the resource consumption is relatively small amounting too air, water, food and minimal shelter. When the population is Homo Industrialis Wal-Martis the resource consumption is a lot higher but this population has a lot more money to meet the price the increased demand requires.

In places where the population is growing in number, density and resource demand the result will most likely be Apocalypse. The horsemen now have a much wider range of ways to create their devastation. These range from crop poisons, through war gasses to nuclear weapons. By destroying the base of the human food chain the humans can be eliminated. I just hope the crazies don’t figure this out or, at least, use it somewhere else.
