* Vetoing any unbalanced budget Congress sends to his desk.

* Refusing to further raise the debt ceiling so politicians can no longer spend recklessly.

* Fighting to fully audit (and then end) the Federal Reserve System, which has enabled the over 95% reduction of what our dollar can buy and continues to create money out of thin air to finance future debt.

* Legalizing sound money, so the government is forced to get serious about the dollar’s value.

* Ending the corporate stranglehold on the White House.

* Driving down gas prices by allowing offshore drilling, abolishing highway motor fuel taxes, increasing the mileage reimbursement rates, and offering tax credits to individuals and businesses for the use and production of natural gas vehicles.

* Eliminating the income, capital gains, and death taxes to ensure you keep more of your hard-earned money and are able to pass on your legacy to your family without government interference.

* Opposing all unfunded mandates and unnecessary regulations on small businesses and entrepreneurs.

* Make securing our borders the top national security priority.

* Avoid long and expensive land wars that bankrupt our country by using constitutional means to capture or kill terrorist leaders who helped attack the U.S. and continue to plot further attacks.

* Guarantee our intelligence community’s efforts are directed toward legitimate threats and not spying on innocent Americans through unconstitutional power grabs like the Patriot Act.

* End the nation-building that is draining troop morale, increasing our debt, and sacrificing lives with no end in sight.

* Follow the Constitution by asking Congress to declare war before one is waged.

* Only send our military into conflict with a clear mission and all the tools they need to complete the job – and then bring them home.

* Ensure our veterans receive the care, benefits, and honors they have earned when they return.

* Revitalize the military for the 21st century by eliminating waste in a trillion-dollar military budget.

* Prevent the TSA from forcing Americans to either be groped or ogled just to travel on an airplane and ultimately abolish the unconstitutional agency.

* Stop taking money from the middle class and the poor to give to rich dictators through foreign aid.

* Enforce Border Security – America should be guarding her own borders and enforcing her own laws instead of policing the world and implementing UN mandates.

* No Amnesty - The Obama Administration’s endorsement of so-called “Comprehensive Immigration Reform,” granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, will only encourage more law-breaking.

* Abolish the Welfare State – Taxpayers cannot continue to pay the high costs to sustain this powerful incentive for illegal immigration. As Milton Friedman famously said, you can’t have open borders and a welfare state.

* End Birthright Citizenship – As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be granted U.S. citizenship, we’ll never be able to control our immigration problem.

* Protect Lawful Immigrants – Encourage legal immigration by streamlining the entry process without rewarding lawbreakers.

* Remove restrictions on drilling, so companies can tap into the vast amount of oil we have here at home.

* Repeal the federal tax on gasoline. Eliminating the federal gas tax would result in an 18 cents savings per gallon for American consumers.

* Lift government roadblocks to the use of coal and nuclear power.

* Eliminate the ineffective EPA. Polluters should answer directly to property owners in court for the damages they create – not to Washington.

* Make tax credits available for the purchase and production of alternative fuel technologies.

Yep. And at one time those ideas could have been found in the Democratic Party.......but that was a long, long time ago in a galaxy far away. <sigh>

Obama is a very very very smart person. That's how he got elected. But he just human being and doing what will be best for him. Look at how many favors he did to big corporations. I am sure he is set for life when he is done with POTUS.

what people fail to realize is that reducing government spending at this point will collapse the economy... I'd go short the stock market in any attempt to balance the budget. Indeed the stock market is cratering with the latest budget bill which requires serious spending cuts going forward. Debt creation is the only thing keeping the economy stable. Research fractional reserve banking and see that there's only 2 ways out.. default/deflation/consolidation and significant inflation, perhaps not hyperinflation but inflation to the tune of hundreds of percent which makes the debt worth less and easier to pay off.

Anywho, I'd like Obama to..

seal up the borders and enforce border security... find the ones here and require them to learn english and become a citizen the normal route or get out. They are a drain on our services, particularly hospitals.

pull us out of the middle east

decriminalize all drug possession (in small amounts) and legalize/tax marijuana

a real health care plan that cuts the phat from the system by reducing the need for all the accounting and paperwork, caps the cost of prescription drugs, and I'm uncertain whether it should be universal, or provided to everyone free or not. There's too much unchecked illegal immigration for that to work yet, and too big of a welfare state. Requiring people to 'buy' insurance is unconstitutional. No way am I going to follow that horsecrap.

abolish compound interest fractional reserve banking, abolish the federal reserve. Issue money from the treasury. Usury is a tool for parasites who already have money to accumulate even more. Sucks the lifeblood out from the average person with no money, like a parasite or leech.

A graduated flat tax where there are no loopholes, business writeoffs, single mother welfare, and other such things. Stop putting so much burden on the middle class while giving the very top and the very bottom tax breaks which reduce their burden as a percentage of their income. Right now those that make between $40k-100k and are not business owners have the highest tax 'burden' Stop paying people for being irresponsible. No extra dough to pump out kids, foreclose on a house, run a company into the ground, or whatever.

Let's start with some of your posted fallacies that Obama has nothing to do with:

Remove restrictions on drilling, so companies can tap into the vast amount of oil we have here at home.

Restrictions on drilling mostly have to do with enviromental concerns. If the BP disaster happened near to where you live wouldn't you want some type of control? Or is the only thing you care about is how much you pay for a gallon of gas?

Repeal the federal tax on gasoline. Eliminating the federal gas tax would result in an 18 cents savings per gallon for American consumers.

If the Federal gas tax was eliminated Oil companies would find a way to increase prices by the same amount. Why do "Socialist" Venezuelans pay only 78 cents for a Gallon of Gas while we are paying "X" amount of dollars?

Lift government roadblocks to the use of coal and nuclear power

Coal pollutes so we know the health hazards. Nuclear power is a different world! Just ask the residents of 3 Mile Island in PA or the people in Japan.

OP - some good ideas and some bad ideas and a couple of disasterous ideas. The disasterous ideas outweigh the good so I would not vote for anyone proposing this entire list.

I disagree with 6, 7, part of 8, and agree with MiamiRob on the energy policies. The environment and sustainability must take precedence over short-term status quo creature comforts. The trouble is we do bad things or have bad policies because big business benefits from them (wars, environmental decimation, unbalanced taxation and loopholes, etc). Doing the right thing will destroy any economy that's built on a corrupt foundation.

Apart from the above and any religion-inspired social conservatism, I would vote for this individual.

Quite a few points there that would make that candidate a horrible choice based on unsound thinking, to say it politely.
