Yeah, I know it's India - but wasn't OUR government trying to push a MANDITORY cervical cancer vaccine a couple of years ago?

"For the first time since 2010 when six tribal girls from Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh involved in the clinical trials of anti-cervical cancer HPV vaccine died, the government has admitted that 1,725 persons have lost their lives to drug trials in the last four years.
The number of deaths has risen from 132 in 2007 and 288 in 2008 to 637 in 2009 and 668 last year, indicating the complete ineffectiveness of regulatory controls over the $400 million sector. Last year, the government gave compensation in just 22 cases out of the 668 that resulted in deaths due to “serious adverse events” during drug trials, Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad told Parliament this week.

Currently, 1,868 clinical trials are going on as per the Clinical Trial Registry of India maintained by the office of the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). Many of the drugs being tested are not even of specific relevance to the country and could have been tested anywhere. Equally shocking is the fact that the rules, under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, entirely trust the trial investigator with the reason attributed for the death of a subject. This is resulting in gross under-reporting of actual deaths during clinical trials.

Dr Chandra Gulhati, a leading medical practitioner, who led several clinical trials in the UK, says the number of deaths would be much more than we will ever know. “We have no system of independent auditors to investigate the cause of death of subjects involved in clinical trials. Whatever the investigator says is believed even if he attributes the death to a prior disease. Such investigators are always hired by the firm conducting the trial. How can we expect them to be objective all the time?”, he asks."

In response to the bolded question, no our government was not trying to make the HPV vaccine mandatory. No vaccines are mandatory, and it depends on the state and local level in regards to what vaccines they require for entrance to public schools. Also, most areas allow you to opt out of vaccines for relgious or even personal reasons and if you opt out for religious reasons they cannot ask your religion or request any other information.

I know quite a few people who do not give vaccines to any of their children.

But on the HPV info, I would not give it to my child either. This is why they do these initial trials overseas because most Americans and other western nations don't care about poor third world children being killed by vaccines too much. This is not the first vaccine to have caused deaths and won't be the last. Unfortunately it is the price of progress in the fight against disease.

For all of you who read this please SAVE the link and pass it on to your friends and relatives and have them do the same. NOBODY should have ANY VACCINE including those your doctor wants you to have WITHOUT CHECKING THIS SITE for the INGREDIENTS and SIDE-EFFECTS. After you've done that and are ok getting shot-up with formaldehyde and all the other lovely ingredients that are in most of the vaccines, go ahead. Also keep in mind that the greatest number of cases of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome are right after the 2 month and 4 month old vaccines. http://novaccine.com

This site is the World Assn for Vaccine Education by the way.

This is what is in the flu vaccine and the side effects:

WAVE - Specific Vaccines Flu (influenza)

At least India is HONEST. If the truth be told, 250,000 Americans die every year taking prescription drugs as prescribed and that doesn't count allergic reactions are errors but you have to read the medical journals to find out.

Please do your homework before posting about this subject ever again. Go take a chemistry class and one in biology before you work to threaten public health. Your very own body makes formaldehyde naturally. That's right. Formaldehyde! The ingredients in vaccines are in such small quantities they are essentially harmless.

SIDS has nothing to do with vaccines. SIDS has been described in the literature long before vaccines ever showed up. Without vaccines we'd have literally million more dead each year. That's simply the truth.

As for the OP, that's also false as well:

PATH: Update on PATH?s HPV vaccine project in India

To date, no deaths have been causally associated with HPV vaccination in India or elsewhere. Experience with the HPV vaccines used in the post-licensure observational study confirms the good safety profile reported in clinical trials.

As I'm reading this, the deaths were the result of drug trials (plural), which would mean drugs beyond just the anti-HPV vaccine.

They came pretty close in Texas - but what would you expect from the Bush Republic?

"Gov. Rick Perry on Tuesday said he won't veto a bill that would block state officials from following his order that all sixth-grade girls be vaccinated against a virus that causes cervical cancer.

The Republican governor accused the state legislators of politicizing the debate over his February executive order that required vaccinations against the human papillomavirus vaccine for girls starting in September 2008."

The above reads as if it was written by a heartless pharmaceutical executive and, frankly, I find it offensive.

Disease will always exist. It serves an individual purpose. The fight against it is only for profit. They will never find a cure for anything because that's not the purpose of medicine. Oh, they'll claim they're looking, but it will never be the end result. There is too much profit in it. And the fact that anyone is subjected to dangerous medications and that any damages they suffer are simply par for the course is just evil.

Half of ALL sexually active girls (and yes, most girls will eventually be sexually active) wind up infected with HPV. It can cause cancer. The only cure? A hysterectomy! Why are you against helping women avoid reproductive cancers?

Really? So what happened to smallpox? All those cases of diphtheria and measles we used to see in much of Europe and the Americas? Vaccination is cheap and effective. Fighting against it is stupid.

I think vaccines can be helpful, and should be weighed against the possible dangers of the disease in question. HPV infects about 75% of adults in the US, and possibly more since it is not required to be reported to the CDC. I think since the virus is associated with deaths from cancer, the CDC was trying to help.

Sounds lame. LOL but in our country we have a lot of regulations governing medical trials. I personally would not have my kid get vaccinated with any "new" vaccine for something that's not say...polio, but I really think there was a desire to reduce cancer for some of the doctors and researchers involved.

The high numbers of deaths in India may say more about the controls around India's medical trials than it does about the inherent danger of the vaccine...
